Do you ever look at yourself or listen to yourself...

And think...God I am my mother I do all the time!!! Its a little scary

ETA...Not to mention...I look exactly like her...I will have to get a pic...its scary

Yes, it's getting a lil scary. We'll both go to say the same thing, I tell her to get out of my head. But it's ok bc I laugh that she's becoming grandma!! FH says it's ok too, he just made me promise I won't cut my hair.

Well, i am estranged from my mother because of her mental illness - so I fear sometimes I will be like her - I have some of her potential hysteria, but I try and nip it in the bud...

I know the feeling. WE spoke about this before ... Although I am NOT estranged from my ill mother it is very hard to keep our relationship going. I love her to death and she can be my best friend at times. I just take the good with the bad. And the bad times have been horrific - there were so many times that I'v said, 'Im done with this - I will NEVER speak to her again' but I always get sucked back in. I feel your pain. Sometimes its just too hard.

As for acting like my mom, Im scared to death I will develop her illness but I have warned my FI about signs and symptoms. As much as my mom has caused me many problems I get a lot of wonderful qualities from her too.

All the time, that's probably why my dad and I clash so much.

My mother likes to put doubts in my head, saying that I'm making the same mistake she made when she married my father.

I AM my mother....enough said!!! (It also doesn't help that I look exactly like her!)

Sometimes, but more often I think I am like HIS mother!!!! She's more social like I am, whereas my mom really only socializes within the family. So, sometimes my MIL does something and I think, 'I would have done that, too.'

Oh yes!!! I do things all the time & then think 'I am my mother' We do look alike too, very scary!!!!

The trait I am noticing lately that I have inherited from my mom is the 'I can do it all by myself and I don't need anyone else's help!' trait. I guess I have always had it but lately I notice it more.
I also worry about people like she does - I want everyone to be happy-comfortable-fed, etc. I like that trait though
