I would love to vent away about stuff at work, but I worry that someone I work with would find it. I know that might be a little egocentric of me, but I am paranoid, mainly because my real first name is part of my screen name.
Also, I know someone on the other site I visit a lot (an online journal site) who wrote a long, angry entry about her boss. She'd mentioned the name of her workplace and someone (she never found out who) copied and pasted her entry into an e-mail and sent it to her boss. She ended up losing her job.
Does anyone else worry about this?

But YES i am NOW quite aware of the backlash that can offer when you offer up too much info.
I forget that this isn't our little LIW bubble...It is the internet, where any LUNATIC can read. SO now i plan to be much more careful about the things i say

I do especially in light of recent events. In December some former members of this site sent stuff to my house and at the time there were only 3 people that knew where I lived. The goverment is still looking into charges against them for that. Long story. Then the other night someone on this board claimed to see myself and another member at a restaurant.
I very RARELY post pictures on this site anymore. DH will NOT allow me to post pictures of the baby when I have it or when what date I am having it. He will not allow me to post the name or any details of the birth thanks to the above named people. Sad to say people like these and the lurkers take the fun out of the site. It's scary to think about what you put out there.
So with that please be careful what you post. You would be surprised how much info is really available about you on this site.
I hope I am making sense but my feeling are really hurt right now, by something that was said- so just be careful girls!

The case is out of my hands since they sent things through 3rd parties, the companies, post service and internet crimes are handling the case. I have NO say in the matter what so ever anymore. It will be a slow long process, it might even take them awhile but all of the companies that had to pay for the information that was fraudulantly supplied to them are looking to recoop their losses. Also I think last I heard FBI or someone else is looking into it too since they presented themselves as me that is identity fraud. They told mortage brokers and such that we wanted to sell our house and things like that. So totally out of my hand but again as I said:
Please be careful what you posted. Just because people post on this site regularly does not mean they are sane!

I try not to post too many private things. You just never know who's out there and although the chances of something happening is slim, I would never be able to live with myself if something did happen.
