emerged in wedding plans, or do you feel like you've kept life the same while planning on the relaxed side? I feel like I'm scared of becoming too consumed by planning, so I sometimes avoid it. I don't know why

Re: Do you feel like you are completely.....
I am suddenly feeling this way...with just 3 months to go....it seems like we cannot get enough in our savings account quick enough...but we really have a lot under control...so I am finally easing into the more relaxed mode....

make sure you maintain your normal life...
For me, finishing with the wedding planning was a BIG disappointment. We spent every weekend in the last 2 years planning the wedding. We don't even remember what we used to do on the weekends before the wedding...

With me, it comes in waves. I will go through a period where I am completely consumed by it and getting stuff done. That's usually followed by a period where I just sit back and relax.

i felt that way. sometimes when people suggested going to do things for the wedding, i had no interest in it. i think its your subconcious keeping a balance for you!

I think I've kept life the same other than trying to tell everyone in the world what we're doing!

Thats exactly how I feel. The last few weeks of the school year, I did nothing. Now I feel the need to accomplish something everyday.

I'm always on the computer, on here researching stuff. Since I'm in CA, I need to narrown choices down to one or two, make calls, and then make appointments for when I'm in NY. I usually try to do as much of it on my lunch breaks and leave the weekends open, especially since FH isn't as interested in this stuff as I am. I'm sure when we move back to LI the wedding stuff will consume more time. I feel like the wedding is always on my mind though... I think i'm going to miss some if it after its over!

same here...
now with 2 months to go i am starting to freak out because i have been fairly laid back all along - i think the best thing to do to keep one's sanity is to do a little at a time over a long period of time...

See, for me, it's hardly EVER on my mind. I don't really think about it unless I have a big decision to make or something. I ahve all my major vendors booked and I just feel like I don't want to think about it anymore. I think I just want to be married and get it over with already. I guess that's the downfall to a long engagement

This sounds like me too. I try to make a point to spend time with FH when I don't discuss anything wedding. (For example- we borrower FIL's boat and went out on the GSB yesterday.)
Sometimes I feel like everything is in control and other times I feel like I'm not doing anything and that I'm missing things.
But with 2-1/2 months left, I think that the down time will decrease substantially.

Being in California makes it easier to avoid wedding stuff(other than research or gowns), especially since we now have a band, my FI thinks he's done planning.
