We never go out. DH's parents have a New Years party every year, so we have to go. I don't wear crazy stuff around them, so it's usually a sweater dress or similar.

Back in my day of $85+ open bar NYC New Year's celebrations, I got dressed up in weather inappropriate-dance your booty off attire. But the past 2 years we went to 'holiday pajama' themed NYE parties, so we wore our cheesy Chistmas PJ's... most comfortable New Years outfit ever!!!
This year we're going out to a nice dinner with a few other couples in Vermont, so we'll probably dress up a little and then change into comfy clothes to relax and play games back at the resort afterwards.

Not really. I just don't have the energy. If we do go out its only to a family party.
not really the past few years we have been going out with my parents to eat chinese out.

we never dress up for new years ... just jeans and a sweater usually ...
it works out though because we don't go to places that require us to look fancy

Nope.. I'm usually with family or friends ... DH is working so I keep it pretty causual.

depends what im doing...catering hall parties: dress; house parties: jeans/leggings, cute shoes and a nice top; home: pajamas or anything super comfy and cozy

last year we didn't go out because Dino was sick, so I just cleaned the house. This year we are staying in and lounging with Laila, so no, I won't get dressed up again.
Before that I didn't go too crazy. Like you said, usually a sweater dress or something more casual. We used to just go to a friend's house for a party.
