Re: do you have a b list?
We are doing a b list because our room has a max of 200 and right now I have 240 total. I have to break up the lists.

Re: do you have a b list?
We have a B list just because right now we are close to 300 invites and we want to keep it at 200 so as A list people say no, we will invite B list.

Re: do you have a b list?
i can't afford a B list. i can't afford my ever growing A list! Also, if they aren't a priority to invite then they probably shouldn't be invited. IMO

Re: do you have a b list?
no B list, i think it's inappropriate to have one, but thats just my personal feeling, many ppl do (more power to them) them, but our feelings remain, ~if we want you to share our special, day your getting an invite, there are no subsitutions to the people we want by our sides~

SAME HERE! see thing is this..
my mom has her people she wants to invite.. most are family some friends.. folks who have seen me grow up.. she knows however thaht she gets 50 people.. (wow that's a lot) and anyone over that that come she has to pay for.. she's cool with that
fh's parents (cheap cheap) dont wanna pay.. so instead they/him wanna send out invites and if folks say no they wanna fill in with a second list..
so he wants to sendo ut invites for our feb wedding in october.. to give folks enough time to say no so he can send out his second roudn.. i'm like dude..if they are that important to invite invite them.. and if u'r folks are over their 50.. (wow that's a lot..especially wen they ain't payin for ish!) then let them pay for it..
his response..
it doesn't work that way over here..
oh..
okay..
then i dunno what to tell u.. cuz invites are going out one time and one time only.. and that would be in beg december..
We have the same problem, we have our 'final' list and FH's parents have a their own list (which they know that several are no's). We'll probably let them replace a couple of people but we told them if they want more they have to pay (they flat out refused to help - but still insist on substituting). You have to know when to set limitts though.
I agree with Helen though. If we want you to share our special, day your getting an invite, there are no subsitutions.

Re: do you have a b list?
well, we started with a list of around 300...room holds 300, we guaranteed 225... Originally, our plan was, no cuts on the guest list...we'll cut back in other ways, to make it possible to invite everyone we want there...Then, things changed...FH was out of work...for a long time...no money was being put away, and we had to rethink things, seriously...Including, we may need to cut back a bit, just to be able to scrape by.
Obviously, 225 is WAY more budget friendly...so...I tried to whittle down a bit...Got it down to about 280...with the promise to FH, that if we get back at least 20 nos...we can invite the guys he used to hang out with back in high school...that he's seen maybe five times since...(we're out of high school 15 years...) I know he'd like them there...but, when it came time to cut...they were on the chopping block, so to speak...mind you, I haven't invited a single co-worker, and these are people that I spend 40 hours a week with... So, in this case, we have a handful of people on a b-list...in the event that we get more nos than anticipated...So, we're sending out the invites in the beginning of December, or even the very end of November, with an RSVP date of January 10th...so, this way, even 'b-listers' will have their invites at least 6 weeks prior to the wedding...

Re: do you have a b list?
Im having a b list just because I have to invite family who I NEVER see just because its the right thing to do. But most likely they wont come so thats where the b list comes in.
But if I already knew people werent coming I wouldnt include them at all.

Re: do you have a b list?
It is kinda pointless cuz if you know they can't make it yet want to put the invite out anyways they should be on the a list to begin with. I'm not making more than one list cuz I can't be bothered dividing our lists and don't want people to think they are only second best to the original list.

Re: do you have a b list?
I know of people who can't make it but i'm still sending them an invite. I just think that I should send out all the invites I was originally going to send without the knowledge that they probably won't come. I guess I think its courtious or respectful especially since its family in my case.

Re: do you have a b list?
We're going to try not to have one if we can. I remember how we felt when we found out we were on someone's 'C' list...and got our invitations 1 week before the RSVP date.

Re: do you have a b list?
I think I may have a few people on it .... not many ... and they are coworkers. Thing is I will probably invite my boss and put 2 other coworkers (former bosses) on the b list ... and I do not want them to know that they are b list .. so I may not have one at all :) As of now, there's only like 15 people on it (which includes their spouses).

Re: do you have a b list?
No, we aren't doing it. We won't be going anywhere near the max our room will hold so we'll be just fine with our invite number. I understand the concept of a B list, but I don't really agree with them.
