Do you have a lot of debt?

I think about how I will have 30-year mortgage...that's a payment every month for the next 30 years...360 months...10,957 days (included 7 leap years)

I like to think of a house as an investment, not debt.

i wouldn't think about mortgage as debt. that's the one thing even though it's a monthly payment that i don't consider debt, because it's an investment and the tax benefit is HUGE!

i think of thinks like credit cards and high interest loans as debt.... and i used to have over $10k in CC debt years ago, but luckily I got great bonuses and after paying it off at least 2 years in a row, I have never racked up that much debt again.

I am a budgeter, big time.

I sat down with FH and we made a priority budget.

After all is said and done, rent, fuel, cable, utilities, groceries no extras we have about 1200$ to play with.

Which I insist half goes into savings.

And it's tight, but do able.

I have been faced with decisions in the past that go something like this:

Ok, I have 40$ to last a week. I need tampons, food and train fare.........

lol

Hahahaha - I haven't thought about it like that YET. I'm more concerned with the price of the appliances I love.

Thankfully all the appliances are new so we won't need anything just yet. I want to furnish the basement with a bar, recliners, 60' HDTV, carpet
