My new kitchen (which at this rate will not be finished until 2010!) has a loose deco feel to it I guess. Im sure an interior designer would have issue with me bending the rules but thats how i like to think of it :D

Not sure if I'll have one, maybe just a color scheme (yellow, navy & white)
BUT
my mother has one... gingerbread men. They are all over the place on the wall, canisters, pot holders, cookie jar... she gets everything at craft fairs. It's pretty cute and warm feeling.
My ex's mother had a cow theme in her kitchen. She had her cabinets painted and all! She was a little nutty.

Mine is a country apple sorta theme. I like to change my kitchen 'themes' every 2 years or so. My kitchen border is a cooking theme- with cookbooks, pies, rolling pin, flour etc...

Love it!! I was just browsing around and saw some some gorgeous kitchens on hgtv.com OMG.. If only I grew up in the midwest somewhere or had a million dollars to have that kitchen here!

I change my theme according to season/holiday. Right now we're in Fall Harvest mode. Right after thanksgiving I switch everything to Snowmen including my everyday dishes, that stays till January or February then I do a spring fruit theme, then summer garden, then Patriotic, then Summer fruits, back to Fall.....
Rich thinks I'm nuts & my attic is packed, but I really do enjoy all the stuff I've collected & acquired over the years.
My kitchen is the only room painted a neutral color because I switch it too many times & it would never match.

I have a 'Fat Chef' Theme with Tuscan feel. We have pics of the 'Fat Chef' hanging, I have an olive oil bottle with him on it, a cutting board, my foot mat for near the sink, ect. My FH picked out this theme, because he is Italian. I like it, the 'Fat Chef' is cute. We play Italian music when we cook together. ![]()

My friend has a kitchen with a vegetable theme. Her decorative tiles have tomatoes, peppers etc. It look really well with her black granite counter tops and, reddish wood cabinets and stainless steel fridge. She says its like a european theme.
