Jenn, Is that the Portifolio Collection? Looks exactly like the one I wanted! You can get different colors and different chairs? We decided not to get it, but I do love it!! If it is, there was a company on the net that sold it the cheapest. It was a few hundred less then the big furniture store over here. with free shipping. If it is let me know and I will see if I can find that company again. Thing the furniture was called Sherman?

Oh didn't answer the question: We have a open floor plan that includes the kitchen a table area and then the family room. So not sure how to answer that...I guess a big one.

I voted large as well. My kitchen is kind of in between. There's a very tiny extension on the side of it which give me extra cabinet space, but there's a pretty large table, which could not fit in a kitchen any smaller than mine. So I say it's large! haha!

Edited to add: I don't think a set like the one you posted would look right in my kitchen. If it were more square maybe. My kitched is kinda long. Who knows! Great table though!

Jenn, Just read your post again and if it is the Contempory chair you want the man told us that those chairs are not reinforced like the birdcage ones. For us that was a big deal because my mom is overweight and DH's dad is real big. So that is why we went with a different set.

Re: Do you have an eat in kitchen?

We have an 8 ft. table in our kitchen that can seat 10 people. But our kitchen is pretty big. The eat in area of our kitchen is about the same size as our dining room.

Edited to say that I love that set and think it would be fine as a DR set, so if you love it, buy it and if you need to get a smaller set to accomodate the kitchen later, then maybe you can do that instead.

Make a decision yet Jenn!?!

It's a nice set! Tough decision though. I'd say most older homes won't have a kitchen that will be able to accomodate that size set. The newer homes (80's and later) usually have larger eat-in-kitchens, but I have seen some young homes (2000+) that didn't have dining rooms at all. You just never know what kind of home you'll end up living in down the road.
