Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
Are there any children under the age of 5 attending your reception?

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
I stressed to my guests that I wanted an Adult Reception. For the most part they listened, but I had 2 babies at my wedding
It was not that bad- they were good and quiet, but I do not think that a wedding is a place for babies/children.

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
My flowergirl was under 1.5 and my ring bearer was 4. They were both at the reception for maybe an hour. One of the guests brough her baby (which I wasn't expecting) - he was only a few months old. If I didn't see him, I wouldn't have known he was there.

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
I will have a few babies at my reception. I couldn't figure out a tactful way to tell everyone not to bring them. When I tried...they were like, 'we always take them to weddings, I don't see what the big deal is'. I didn't want to start any family drama, so I just let it go.I am planning on getting 2 baby-sitters for my reception. 1 for the babies and 1 to entertain the older kids to play games, etc.
My friend had a babysitter at her reception and it was great...the kids were entertained (they spent most of the time in the bridal suite during the reception when the BP was through with it). This way...they won't be bothering the adults and they will have a good time of their own.

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
My flower girl will be 2 1/2 years old, and one of my ring bearers will be 4 and the other will be 6.Hopefully there won't be any unexpected children showing up!
At FH's cousin's wedding, one of his other cousin's decided to bring her 2 kids with her. I really hope she doesn't do that to us! I don't want to pay for any extra meals that they won't eat anyway.

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
our FG & RB will be 4 1/2. They are invited to stay, especially to take pics, but I am sure the parents will make arrangements to have them picked up, so they can have fun.Besidesno young child is going to be fun for anyone after their bed time.

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
I'm very adimant about NO kids at the wedding. FH's sister is pregnant now and the baby will be 9 months old by the time of the wedding. I'm hoping she doesn't expect to bring her (we know it's a girl). And call me cruel and selfish, but I do NOT want a crying baby during my ceremony either! Normally I love kids.....

Just one, my niece who is 2 and 1/2 and she is the FG. Otherwise I stressed ADULT reception but she was the exception.

For those that stressed 'adult reception' - was this by word of mouth or was it on your invite?

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
It's definitley a touchy subject for a lot of people. We decided to invite children who we were close to- only my cousins' kids who I am close to and our niece who is going to be the flower girl. She will be 1 1/2 and she will probably go home after the ceremony. Other than that, nobody under 5 is going to be invited.

We are not having any children at our reception, with the exception of our 2 flower girls. I plan on writing 'Adult Reception' on our invites.

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
I had about 13 kids at my wedding, including 2 infants and 2 todlers. I have to say it didn't bother me one bit, in fact I think it was kind of cute. During the ceremony, one of the babies was crying, which I heard, but I was in such a zone at that time that it didn't bother me at all. The people who brought their really little ones were appreciative, because they weren't sure they could have found a sitter otherwise. My wedding was during the day, and it bit more casual, so that may have made things different for us. I'm sure if we'd had an elegant evening wedding, I wouldn't have wanted kids there. Overall, I'm not sorry at all that we had the kids there.

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
No BABIES at the reception - and nobody under the age of 18! I had to have a cut-off with 40 first cousins. And even though a lot of my friends have small kids, I want an adult-only reception. The ceremony I'm not as particular about.....If someone showed up with the child, I would be very upset. But I hear it's pretty common!

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
I have my 3 year old flower girl, who is my cousin. I am also having her 2 year old brother, who is my cousin too. I felt that we had to invite him too because I couldn't say that one could come and the other had to stay home. But they are the only kids that will be there.

Re: Do you have any BABIES attending your reception.
I was only expecting one baby (1 mo. old), but we ended up with 6 small (under 5) children:1week
1 mo.
8 mo.
1 yr.
3 yr.
3 yr.
And, they were such a joy. They were in many ways the highlight. How could I be upset at the site of a little child. In fact, the 2 three year olds, on their own, put rose petals at our feet off of the cake table. How sweet is that?
