The only kids we will have will be those in the bp. However I have already heard comments about this choice.....oh well can't please everyone. I love kids...but I don't really think it is the place for kids to be running around.

My two first cousins, aged 8 and 10 (at wedding time) are in my bridal party.

I have another first cousin who will be just under 3 when I get married, and I have yet to decide if we'll be having her along. I adore her, I honestly do. But I want my uncle and aunt to be able to have a good time, and they DO have a nanny.

As for my other (second) cousins, all of the ones under 18 have been cut out. This was VERY difficult for me to do, but I had to draw the line somewhere, and the under 18 second cousins would have added up to NINE more people (on an already-too-large guest list).

I'm rather scared of stepping on people's toes, and especially hurting my one cousin in particular. But inviting her would have meant inviting her brother and her 6 first cousins. OR it would've meant inviting half of one family and not the other half. I just couldn't find any way to do it.

i dont understand how anyone would want to take an infant to a wedding...who watches them when they want to dance? they cant drink at all cause they have to take care of the baby... oh well...
the only young one at my wedding would have been my flower girl(2 1/2 years old)... but my sister already said shes going to get a babysitter and enjoy the night

No Babies!
No Kids except the two in our wedding party (8 yr old Flower girl and 11 year old junior usher).

No other kids! I've made it known to my mom, my FH's mom. If someone asks us, I will politely tell we are not able to accomodate children (FH has 30 1st cousins -- all with multiple kids!!)

BTW--We went to a cousin's wedding last spring with LOTS of kids, including 2 year old twins who ran around trying to escape into the elevators and almost knocked over the cake! Older kids at this wedding were BORED silly. I think they liked the idea of dressing up for a wedding, but the reality of eating a banquet meal having to behave themselves really bummed them out.

I had my FH who was almost 4 and then a guest asked to bring her 18 month, since her entire family was invited to the wedding...so there was no one to watch (they are immigrants...so they don't have an extended family here...except for ours...who were all at the wedding too) - she could have had a friend...but I folded and said OK...and the little girl was so sweet and didn't make a peep for the 6+ hours!!


I also had a handful below 13 and it was so much fun to see them having fun...my cousins wedding was the first wedding I went to at 12...and she came up to me and thanked me for inviting her kids...as it was their first wedding and having so much fun...


but also keep in mind...i got married in the afternoon...if it were the evening...it may have been different

My niece will be attending and she will be 11 months old to the day. Our children will be there (ages 9, 8, and 3) but the little one is going home after he is introduced! By 8:30 he will be sooo tired and cranky...........he might end up missing the introductions.

We will have 9 children under 5yrs old attending (2 are in the BP). They are all family tho & know to take them out quickly if they get unruly. Plus my family does not play that 'time out' crap. If the kids act a fool in front of ANY family member, the closest family member will step up & set them straight.

cp0329 - we put Adult Reception in bold & slightly larger print on our reception cards & had no problems. But we did a good job beforehand of spreading the word that we are only allowing children in our family to attend. A couple peeps commented but have abided by our wishes & will not bring their kids.

Unfortunetly we have a 1 yr old and (3) 4 yr olds coming then there is a 5 and 6 yr old. They are all our nieces and nephews and we couldn't get out of them coming...hopefully they will all behave!!

We are going to have five children, BP...ringbearer-5, flowergirl-4...and then we have to have ringbearer's sister -9, flowergirl's sister -1, and FI's niece-3 and nephew-2...We are thinking of hiring a babysitter who can keep the kids in the bridal suite later into the evening. Our bridal suite has a big TV and couches all over so it may be okay.

My niece (flowergirl) will be 2 and my nephew just turned 1.
