Do you have 'friends' that you know just aren't happy for you?

Original post by the future mrs m

Well, I def know one person who is dying to be in my bridal party who isn't really happy for me (she wont be in it , though). She is bitter about being single and thinks she'll never find the one. I was wondering if you girls have experienced this too.

My childhood friend who is also my sons godmother was upset b/c I made her a bridesmaid and a high school friend who I felt would be happier for me the MOH. I told her that I thought the person I chose was best b/c she isn't even that great of a godmother how could she really help me with the wedding. She told me I only picked my other friend b/c of $ which I don't get b/c I thought the BP split the costs She claimed she was OK but stopped calling me when I called the conversation was awkward. So the final straw was when my male BF died last month and I went to her house she wouldn't answer the door for me. She later left me a message saying there was something going on in the 'household' and she couldn't answer the door. There was no one there but her and the damn dog! That was enough for me, she is obviously not in the wedding anymore nor is she or her family invited.

Sorry for being so long but she really pissed me off.

Unfortunately, weddings can bring out the best and worst in people. One of my BM was not 100% supportive throughout the planning, and it was very upsetting. When delaing with my friends, I always tried to keep in mind that although my wedding was the most important thing in my life, it was not the most important thing in theirs. I also tried to determine if their behavior was isolated to the wedding. Unfortunately, this was not the case and I have since lowered my expectations of what kind of friend my BM is
