Do you have 'friends' that you know just aren't happy for you?
Well, I def know one person who is dying to be in my bridal party who isn't really happy for me (she wont be in it , though). She is bitter about being single and thinks she'll never find the one. I was wondering if you girls have experienced this too.

judging from my last post in your thread.. yes I have experienced this and it's not fun.
if you know someone who is not happy for you.. then they have no business being in your bp. or even attend as a guest for that matter!

we have family members who arent happy for us b/c in their heads our marriage means less $$ for them. (not b/c they are paying..they arent. but b/c of inheritence reasons)
Apparently one of FH's aunts responded to the news by SCREAMING how it's not fair b/c we were given a place to live (paying our own bills and what not but not rent) and her kids werent given that option. Her kids both live at home and do NOTHING for the person who owns our property.
I hate jealous petty people who just can't be happy for other people.
I'm getting angry just thinking about it. We also have friends who are anything but happy b/c they are upset that they won't be the first to be married.

it's so sad that this girl wants to even invest the time and money in being a bridesmaid when she knows that she'll be mis and complaining about all teh couples at the wedding.

what your friend did was GROSS! i would have so pissed. and im sure it's on the video. you spend so much money on your special day that you def dont want some drunk girl ruining it!

Um, yeah. I have a BM like that, though I have to admit she has completely done a 180 recently.
When I told I got engaged, she asked to see my ring. She took my hand, shoved it in her boyfriend's face and said, 'See, honey, this is what a real diamond looks like - it's not blue.'
(Stemming from the fact that 3 years ago her boyfriend gave her an aquamarine promise ring and still hasn't proposed... but I don't see how this involves MY engagement! )

I find that friends who are either married or already engaged were really happy and some of the ones who arent married or engaged didnt seem all that happy...think its b/c they want so badly to be engaged/married. But thankfully there are the girls who are genuinely happy regardless of whether they're married or not and of course those are the true friends....my BMs

I have to say - I have a small circle of friends & I havent felt that way about them.

Yes I have two friends that have pretty much not talked to me since I got engaged- we went out for one's birthday in february and that is the last time i saw or heard from either them- despite my attempts to plan coffee outtings, etc-- so unless something changes between now and when invites go out-- they are 'B listed'

i feel like that could have been me! i knew i was getting engaged last year -but i was the last out of about 10 other friends so it got frustrating! you try to put on your happy face as best you can, that's all. IMO, i think it was harder because i was in a long-term relationship; if i had been single, i don't know that it would have bothered me as much - it would have meant more parties to go to!

I think our friends were happy for us, but I am pretty sure my mom wasn't.

I have a too. But mostly they have acted happy but I can tell they are a little sad. I understan because I have felt that way in the past too. No one wants to be left behind. So I try and be extra sensitive to their feelings. However if they are trying to make you feel bad, then ditch them.

I have a friend from college who stopped talking to me when FH and I became serious.
She is one of those 'misery loves company' people ..although I wasn't miserable - i was just single !
...also my sister, when I told her we were engaged, she said 'only one sister left to be married before me'
That really made me sad, I have 5 sisters and she is the oldest, she just has a really hard time loving herself

aww w that must have been so hard for you... if i married my ex my mom would have been the same way and was very open about it.
