Do you have regerets about your wedding??

Original post by rahana316

And I dont mean getting married to FH. This is the most important things to me and I know to all of you.

I am referring to the amount of money we're spending. We all want our day to be perfect and fun and memorable. However, sometimes I sit and wonder why i am spending all this money when it could go to my future child's school fund, or as extra money towards the finance of you car. Don't get me wrong I love all this planning but the money I saved up would come in so handy for something towards the future.

Do any of you have these thoughts some times?? It's normal right??

NO!! You should be asking people this question after the wedding, hahaha

like meeeeeeee!

i have zero regrets---we paid for the entire thing ourselves over 2 yrs--and in the end....on the big day....it was worth it and thensome. there is no greater feeling than when my DH and i walked into the reception room before the guests were in there (they were at the CH) and we looked around at the gorgeous lighting, the tables set up, the favors on display, and we looked at each other and we both just knew what the other was thinking.....'We did THIS'

before -- you worry it won't be worth it. on the day of you KNOW it was.

Yes this is exactly how I feel. Its a wedding your wedding, cherish this day and everything you did to make this happen. I am sure everyones outcome will be amazing and well worth the time and money

sometimes i think it's silly spending all this money on a party - but then i think, that if i don't have a nice wedding maybe i'll regret it. you only get married once (god willing) i want to remember it. we can always make and save more money for the future. JMO

If I only knew then that we were able to SAVE like we have for the wedding then I wouldve went to an island, got married and came back to have a small party that wouldnt cost as much. Oh well. Majority of vendors are already booked and Im not going to lose that money.

I'm the practical person in our relationship so I stress over how much it cost, even though we have it, I think wow! that's a ton of money for one day, yet I see others pictures and I think 'okay, so it's worth it' and FH is a firm believer that you can always make more money and this may be just one day (as I say) but it's OUR ONE special day! Thank God one of us is sane!

In terms of the money, a little bit. Being fresh out of school, the money put into the wedding could have paid off half my student loans. And sometimes FH and I talk about, what if we just had a really small destination type wedding or even just a civil ceremony. But then we knew we'd regret not having spent the day with everyone.

Dont even talk about student loans. I try not to even think about all the loans I have to pay back. I also think I would regret NOT having a wedding.
