Do you have to have a bridal party?

I personally don't want any. But everyone is saying i need to and how can i not.. thoughts?

I see what my friends and family went thru with their bridal party and it was so much drama. I rather just not deal with it.

Do you have to have a bridal party?

It's YOUR day. Do what YOU want to do. It's not up to anyone else to decide. Bridal parties can be the bane of your existence when you're getting married if you have a difficult group. A lot of people are opting out of the bridal party thing now. I almost had just a maid of honor (my best friend) but felt bad leaving out my sisters and FHs sister even though I'm not that close with any of them.

Do you have to have a bridal party?

Do whatever is best for you and the people you care about. If one thing I've learned is my wedding has brought the true colors out of people. People I never thought would show these colors. My shower is Sunday. It has to be rescheduled because there was a nasty storm on the original date. It came to light that there was a lot of negative people and attitude during all the planning. I am so thankfully to all the ladies that made this party happen and I am excited for Sunday. However, after all I heard....I wish I would have known sooner and just pulled the plug on the whole thing. I don't think its fair to everyone who did want to contribute and plan this party to have had to deal with ******** and nonsense. I feel bad even though I know they are more than happy to have done this and don't care about the crap. Showers aren't mandatory. They're nice to get together with people....so have a bbq lol. And of course great if you need stuff. Have a house warming party lol. I heard Sandals and other vacation/honeymoon company have Honeymoon registries. The 'presents' are vouchers for you to use towards your honeymoon. This way the people who want to give you gifts can and its something that you and your FH can enjoy drama free!!

Do you have to have a bridal party?

I been hearing that alot about weddings bring out the true color in people. Your probably the 7th person that said that to me in a week lol.
I have 4 sisters . i already knew that i wouldn't have anyone them in my wedding party. 3 live in florida and the 1 that lives here in ny i dont know if you guys remember in my other posts she is very very difficult.
My oldest sister and I are 20 years apart she will be turning 50 when I get married. I think she is little passed being a bridesmaid lol my other 2 sisters that live in Florida are gay and prefer not to wear dresses well one doesn't care but 1 refuses. So i knew i wouldn't have them and my friends i guess its hard cause I dont feel like we are close even though we talk almost everyday I dont feel like they're my 'best friends' They're kind of flakey :( and some of the girls that I'm close with now that are my FH family I became close with but its only been a year and change that we been really close and I dont want to put that on them since they're pregnant and trying to buy a house. So i rather just have no wedding party.

I have a bridal party. They have made the planning process so much fun. My sister has been the only one that gave me an issue and luckily she dropped out so it's been smooth since then.

Do you have to have a bridal party?

Opps I thought I read bridal shower, not party. My mistake. Now I'm just venting ugh. I included ladies in my bridal party that i think I shouldn't have. Two cousins and my best friend from HS. They have shown about an ounce of interest with regards to everything. I really didn't think it would be them to be so blah about my wedding. When all three of them have said 'they're so happy for me and were so honored to be picked as bridesmaids'. And when I have been there for all three of them through all of their special moments in life. Just do whatever makes you happy. People will complain no matter what. Ive learned that during all my planning. Do whatever will be fun and stressless for you! Its your day and your FH. At the end of the day thats all that matters.

Do you have to have a bridal party?

i am not having a bridal party because FH doesn't want to. we are just having a best man and maid of honor. my friends were pretty cool with it and no one seems upset with me. they are all helping out regardless :) so you should do whatever makes you happy!

Do you have to have a bridal party?

I'm not having a bridal party either. Just my MOH and FH's Best Man. It has been a nice and easy process. My wedding is also going to be pretty small (80-90 people), so I didn't feel the need to have extra people; I wouldn't have any guests at my wedding lol.

Bottom line, you decide what you want. If you want to just have an MOH and Best Man, or have a dozen bridesmaids, that's up to you. Personally, I like that I kept it small. It means more time to actually hang out with people at the wedding (no need for bridal party photos, no stress of them getting ready, no dealing with setting up appointments). PLUS, it saves money when it comes to flowers, bridesmaid gifts, etc.

Do you have to have a bridal party?

You should definitely do whatever feels right to you. If you think having any of those people will just cause you more stress or that they will be too involved in their own personal things then I would vote no.
My FH and I do have a bridal party and everything so far has gone pretty smoothly but I am learning that we may be a minority with that.

Do you have to have a bridal party?

There are opinions from others and then there's your opinion. As you can see, you are not alone. I don't have an 'official' bridal party.

I have assigned however four of my girls with bridal shower and bachelorette duties lol. They understand it is not an official bridal party and still accepted to plan them. It helps that two of them are my sisters. They'll receive special gifts from me for their help of course.

Re: Do you have to have a bridal party?

I'm not having a bridal party, just Maid of Honor and Best Man. It's just how I wanted to do it, and every single person that has asked, be it family, friends, clients, even vendors have always responded with one word... 'smart'

Do you have to have a bridal party?

Well, at least if there's not a BP at all, nobody can get offended that one is in it and not the other, they'll just have to see your reasoning behind it. It's YOUR day not anybody elses! Except for fh of course lol
