I've noticed that around here myself.
Personally, I always have to have the last word, but I don't have the energy for it too much in my life anymore. There are even more stubborn people out there than me, and I can't waste my life away trying to convince someone, or find a non-existing solution, ya know?

No, IMO quality is more important than quantity.
Ideally, I like to end a fight with one, seething, scathing statement that makes people cringe.

Nah...I usually try to stay calm and quiet in arguments, state my piece, and let the other person look like a raving loon and go on and on

well said. i never care about having the last word, and never really get into arguments, BUT i get soooooooo frustrated when my words get misinterpreted. thats my only gripe in those kinds of situations

not on these boards because honestly there are very few people on here who I respect enough to get go back and forth with. The ones who 'start' with me or try to 'instigate'- I usually just drop it because I think they are pretty unintelligent and not worth my energy to lower myself to their standards. Again, there are only a few of those too, but they usually do good job of making themselves look like an @$$ they don't need my help.

I used to, but lately I've just had so much strife in life and so much time dealing with unreasonable people, that I just find it better to usually just walk away. I love a good debate, but it it's not a debate nad it becomes an argument or something nasty, I cna just walk away from it. I don't need to get an ulcer over stupid people
