No, you don't HAVE to. But we did. We wanted to invite him so we sent him an invitation, it was purely our choice.

He declined the invite but appreciated the thought!

I sent one to the msgr marrying us...he responded yes.

The invitation to my officiant was the 750 check I mailed him to cover the wedding.

i sent him and his wife an invite... they haven't rsvp-ed.

i sent it because i wanted to, not because i had to

I don't think you HAVE to but I think its proper ettiquett...I was told that they usually don't come unless they've known you over the years.
