Do you have to send out invitations for a get together the night before (rehearsal dinner) ?

it isn't a rehearsal dinner because we have nothing to rehearse BUT we are having a get together at a restaurant

FMIL says no dates????? so i insist on invitations because i feel bad telling them that their BOYFRIENDS for a long time can't come


is this wrong of me?

Are you doing no dates for finanacial reasons? If so, explain to them the reason and if they choose to ask to bring their boy/girlfriend that they will pay for then it gives them the option.
