Do you know anyone who took the NYPD exam 2 weeks ago??

My FI took it too, he graduates from the NYPD this Wednesday but we all know Nassau & Suffolk pay more!
SOOOOO many people took the Nassau test...they're gonna have to have exceptionals grade to make it in!!
We heard that they're really looking for women and ethnic males. Caucasion males will be REALLY lucky to get in!!

My FH took it too ! He figured maybe they'll call by the time he's redy to retire from the NYPD
Not to be negative but he knows sooo many people took that test so the chances are slim but I keep telling him to keep positive. You never know, I mean some people have to get called so there's hope for everyone !

if he took the test 2 wks ago, he wouldn't make it until at LEAST the Jan 2008 class, if not later. there wouldn't be enough time for the background investigation.

once you pass and they give you a score, it takes a few months before they call you to begin your investigation. that process takes from start to finish about 2-3 months, or sometimes longer depending on if there is anythign in the canidate's background that requires further investigation. the packet of papers they give you to fill out is a headache and a half. my DH is 30 years old and they required all the info on his schooling since 9th grade...yeah he went to like 3 HS's, and we had to get the info on EACH one, not to mention all the jobs he's had in his life, printout of his S.S. statements, last 3 years of taxes, any tickets he might have gotten ,etc.

your FH will probably get the call about an investigation in a few months. hope this doesn't burst your bubble. but i've known several ppl who have gone thru the academy and paperwork...its a lot of red tape.
