do you know of any social meetup groups on long island??
I am looking for some sort of social group that meets on long island--either just for fun or a cause. all of my friends live in nyc and sometimes it is just too much of a hike. i'd love to make some new friends on li. please post or fm me info. thanks ladies.

i recently relocated to philly and joined greater philadelphia cares to volunteer and meet new people. i'm not sure if there's something like that on Long Island, but i think it would be great for you. otherwise, you can find groups for just about anything you're into on this site: www.meetup.com

Just want to say tis is a great idea :) I'll be moving to LI in Aprilish and won't know many people... my FH doesn't have a lot of friends. It's be great to meet some people once I get out there
