We have two...how shall I say it...'spinsters' in our group of friends. I don't think that they hate weddings, they just have no desire to discuss them at all b/c of their single status. A bunch of us have gotten/are getting married recently, and they just do not care. Never ask questions, how's the planning, just ignore it until the day is here. They seem to have fun at the weddings once they're there though.

Yes I do I friend in our circle of girls when off and got married on an island she wouldn't even let her parents come - she thinks that we are all crazy for what were doing ....her Family is having a party for them in a couple of Weeks to celebrate there marriage and she doesn't even want any of us to come! she feel that if its just family the party will be over sooner -

Re: Do you know someone who

I just got done with a conversation between one of my oldest friends/bridesmaid...she was so completely negative about marriage!

she says- 24 is too young to get married (i am 24)

she says- do you want kids?
i say- yes...eventually..3-4 years after we get married...
she says- normal and boring...
but says sorry after- ummm ok

the conversation proceeded to go like that

NOW- I am totally fine with the fact that NOT everyone has a desire to get married...BUT, we were talking about my 'one year mark' tomorrow...and I dont speak to her all the time...esp about the wedding...and she began this tirade about marriage...

I've learned that it's exciting to talk about your wedding and your plans in life w/those that give you feedback (positive), but talking to someone that is BITTER b/c they're single drags the life out of me. Everything is negative....So....I only share my details and excitemen w/you ladies and the FI, and my MOH.

its funny you should ask-- my FH WAS--- his cousin informed me of a conversation they had one holiday-- she did not tell me the whole story all though I should just imagine, anyway He was totally anti marriage until he meet me of course-- he even wrote something in reference to the hole debate in her engagement card.

I got this from a friend i haven't seen in a while. He like rolled his eyes and was all 'why?' - um because I'm in love and want to start my life with someone.

Actually I was very anti-wedding for a while (not anti-marriage but wedding) but all this planning has turned me around completely (now I frighten myself with how into it I am!)

Don't let this 'friend' get you down. I think it is easy to be anti-marriage when you haven't found the one. I bet when she finds her prince charming she will change her mind! Sorry your friend is being such a stinker

what i left out is that this friend is in an alternative relationship, but has been in the relationship for 5 years, so i dont know if it is a situation where she hasnt found anyone...he has... and its ok that she is not into the wedding thing, it was just such a downer from someone i thought would be excited with me

i have a friend who is anti-wedding not anti-marriage. see she doesnt want to plan her wedding, i love her dearly she is one of my bms.
i would like to help her in any way that i can to plan any type of wedding she wants. but i dont think she wants to even talk about those plans it gets her upset.
she is a great person and i just want her to be happy with what she decides to do.

I dont know if she's anti-weddings since I no she'd give anything to be married with kids but since she's so picky and it doesnt seem like it's in her cards unfortunetly, my bestfriend has stopped talking to me for almost a year since I started planning mine. Then I had to replace her as MOH because I she wasnt returning an of my phone calls for months, emails at work and totally ignored her godkids for christmas and one's birthday. So maybe anti-other peoples hapiness????

YES, 2 of my gf's who are always like 'i'm never getting married, I dont even want to think about getting married' Then they bash it, and everything about it

Re: Do you know someone who

those who said yes...does it make you kind of sad? cause my bm/friend really put me in a down mood , which is probably dumb- but it did

It makes me sad a little - simply because I feel that if they were a true friend they should put their personal feelings about marriage aside and just be happy that I am happy.

Yes in fact, I know plenty of them. It really is a shame when people cant at least pretend to be interested in the fact that you're getting married. The single people are obsessed with their own single world and cant relate. And there are also the group that cant be bothered because their wedding is over and they no longer interested to hear about any one else's. Plus their not the center of attention anymore.

Re: Do you know someone who

I actually dated someone who wasn't big on marriage, needless to say I wasn't very happy with him!!! He felt he would get married if his gf really wanted to but he would never go out to buy a ring and propose to someone. People kept telling me he would change, but he didn't. I'm SOOOOOOOO much better off now anyway!!!

Kinda funny tho, my FH was married once b4 and swore that he would never do it again. But then he met me and everything changed!!!!!!!!
