I have just starting looking at dresses and have cut outs of styles I like throughout our apartment. I also have a couple of pictures that my sister took when we were in the shops. They're saved on the computer that my FH and I share. How hard should I be trying to keep my dress a secret? Or should I just forget it and show him?

I showed my FH the pictures of the dresses I was looking at just to get his opinions. I wound up getting my dress yesterday and I showed it to him on from a black and white printout. He barely could see it but I wanted him to share my excitement. He has said, however, that he does not want to see the actual dress in person until our wedding day. He wants it to be a surprise.

I would NEVER let him see it before the wedding. and honestly, he doesn't want to. he says he wants to be surprised.
if you 2 share the same PC, don't keep the pics on there.

I showed him the day I found the one I wanted! It's a picture of a model so I figured: 1) I don't look like that in the dress 2) The wedding was over a year away at the time, so I don't think he'a going to remember! 3) He's my best friend - I wanted his opinion.
He will still be surprised when he sees ME as his bride - it's only a dress. JMO

When I started looking I showed him pics of various dresses I liked to get a feel for what he thought was beautiful. As for the actual dress I chose, not in a million years would I show it to him before the wedding day. I was truly having palpatations every time he suggested doing pictures before the ceremony.

I showed FH the dresses that I liked, but he wont see the actual dress I purchase-nor will he know out of the 30 dresses I love which one

I wanted to show him my dress, but he wanted it to be a surprise. So it was really hard to keep it from him, but I did it. It's up to you guys.

I didn't show my FH the actual dress that I got, but I showed him dresses in magazines that have a similar cut and beading so that he has a general idea. No harm there...

I spent many hours looking on The Knot and the Wedding Channel for dresses months before the ring was on my finger and he may have seen a picture of it back then but i doubt he remembers it. Then again, he knows that the back of my dress is open because my Mom blew it at the photographer. I had told him that he couldnt take pictures of me getting dressed due to the nature of my dress (I can't wear a bra or corset) and Mom proceeeded to describe it to a T in front of FH.
ETA: FH knows the dress has a very distinct back. GRRRR MOM!!!

I showed him a pic of it when I ordered it 3 months ago, but he doesn't even remember what it looks like, except for the fact that it's white!!!
He did see me in my 'back-up' dress that I will choose, since I do not have 100% faith in the salon where I'm getting my gown.

I didn't show my FI. But now I don't see what the big deal is. I can understand wanting his opinion. He is my best friend and the more I think about it, the more I don't really think it matters.
I'm not in to the whole 'good luck', 'bad luck' crap. I'm not supersticious.

i agree 100%, especially w/ #3.... its still going to be a surprise because it will be our wedding day and my hair and make up will be done and ill have on my tiara and jewelry etc etc etc..... I was totally excited to show him and he was excited to see it!
