Just trying ot get an idea what the feeling is about table cameras if you were the guest.

i don't think there's anything wrong with having them, but friends of mine who did said it was kind of a waste of money. nobody really got any good pics from doing it- fyi.

I personally think it would be a waste of money. Many people dont use them, and those that do usually end up taking a whole bunch of pictures of themselves doing stupid stuff, or random silly shots, or even shots of nothing at all. The few good shots that people take are usually the same ones your photographer would have taken.
IMO I think it would be a big added cost with little return.

Call me Bridezilla, but I'm not paying money to develop pictures of my guests... I even told my photographer, stick to the BP - I'm not interested in prof. shots of people with their spouses - they had their wedding - Even the BP will only be in shots as a BP, not with their sig others during the CH shots, the dancefloor is different, then they can take candid dancing shots of whoever - it won't go in the album anyway.
Personally, I think that digital camera's take much better pics, you don't have to pay for development and most people have them and will bring. I've even brought mine when it's FH's friends/family's weddings even though I don't want the pics, I knew he might.
I'm not saying they are a bad idea or a good idea, just not one that I'm considering. One photographer is plenty.

I use them. You get great candids that way of things you completely miss at your wedding!

Instead of doing table cameras, I'm planning on having a little display at each table saying something like 'Please email us your pics...' and having cards available at each table with my email address on them, so people will send their digital pics to us!!

I loved the idea and used them on the day of. Its nice to see how creative your guests can get The only thing about them was that a lot of people forgot to put the flash on and a lot of the pics came out dark.

I TOTALLY recommend them! I got SOOO many awesome pics that my photographers didnt get!!
I have a link somewhere of the pics etc if youd like to see them! I even bought expired cameras off ebay to save money and they came out better than some regular cameras!!!
i was going to do them, but we decided instead to leave CDs at the table... we're hoping that people with digital cameras at the wedding we'll take a CD, upload their pics onto it and send them to us!
thats what im planning on doing. and ill probably attach a little poem to it. i cant find it but when i do ill FM it for you

I think a few years ago table cameras would have been a great idea, but now most people have a digital camera which means they can takes pics of anythign and everything without having to worry about film and developing crappy pics. Then people can send you the good pictures and you can just get them printed online or something. We went to a wedding last year and at towards the end of the evening and the next day for brunch, a member of the BP had his laptop and a card reader and people would give him their memory card and he'd transfer the pics to the laptop and then burn all the pics on a cd or dvd for the couple... I thought that was a cool Idea so you can make sure u actually see the pics everyone takes.
So yea, I thinkt he camera idea is cute, but I'd be afraid of it being a waste of money.
Yea, it really is a waste of money. Most times the pics don't have good quality. People will bring their own digital cameras and I think that's the way to go (along with your photographer, ofcourse). I've never seen able cameras work out great.
When I checked my e-mail on my honeymoon I unexpectedly had so many people send me their digital pics. It was awesome.

I feel as though most people at this point have a digital camera so you would probably be able to get pictures from just about everyone without spending money on disposable cameras. The photographers should get all the shots you want.

i'm not having them.....my fsil had them at her wedding, half went missing the other half were all pics of the same things, the first dance cake cutting, and some were wasted pics of half of some one. i think there was maybe on pic we got of us....we took a few though, who knows what happened to the rest!

I think that it is a cute idea. I would definitely want my guests to take pictures of themselves so that when I develop them I know that they enjoyed themselves when i wasnt watching. and what a great way to say THANK YOU by sending them some of the pics from their table.

EXACTLY!!!!! My guests had digitals too - I had them sent to me.. I also had 2 photographers AND a videographer... None of them captured what the table cameras did!
Also, I had someone go around and collect/finish them before the wedding was over so noone took them home.
Besides, were already spending THOUSANDS on our wedding.. Whats another hundred or so?

Well after I got married I had a different view of table cameras---I went around trying to take interesting shots of details or different people instead of the ones that everyone else was taking.
