Do you like table camera's? w/ poll

OK Brides,

Just trying ot get an idea what the feeling is about table cameras if you were the guest.

I went to my friends e-party a few months ago and i thought it was a great idea...The cutest thing is when she sent us thank you cards, along with the card she put a pic of me and FH that we had taken with her camera, and she did the same with our other friends.

Honestly.....I don't care for them. If you have a great photographer, he will capture everything you want and you won't have to waste your money on developing. To get only a few good shots. My experience has been, ppl get drunk and take bad pictures.

I just think their a waste of $$$ to buy and develop becuase everyone brings a camera to the reception anyway. Also, there's a swat team of photographers taking over 800 photos.... I wonder how many pics are taken with the cameras

I don't think they're tacky, but I think they tend to be a waste. So many of my friends who have gotten married that had them said they ended up with a lot of unused shots or tons of duplicates.

that's how i kind of feel about them. i guess to each their own, but we just felt like you'll wind up either with tons of pics, that you probably won't need (drunken guests, floor shots, etc.) or barely a few pics. at a wedding i went to, i think the camera on the table was used for ONE pic. that was it!

i was going to do them, but we decided instead to leave CDs at the table... we're hoping that people with digital cameras at the wedding we'll take a CD, upload their pics onto it and send them to us!

I did this for my E-party. I have to tell you I only did 6 cameras and so many of the pics were the same. Also ONE camera was never found. I'm hoping none of my guests would be that tacky and that it accidently got thrown out with the 1st tablecloth.

if i went to a weding that had them, i'd take a bunch of pics and have fun with it. however, i'm not having them at mine. it's a lot of money to buy the cameras and then develop the film - money we don't really have. plus, i've heard hardly any pics come out clear. my photographer is going to be doing a bunch of work and i know a bunch of people are bringing their own cameras. as fun as i think it could be, it's not worth it to me.

I would save your money and skip out on them. I just went to a wedding a couple months ago and so many people had their own cameras and put the pictures on webshots or some other site like that so that the bride or anyone could develop the pictures they wanted.

But if money isnt a factor, I would do it....you sometimes get some 'interesting' pictures lol

LOL-- Well, I am hoping for 'interesting' pictures. I am leaning towards having them b/c I am impatient & wating a few weeks to see any wedding pics might just kill me! Maybe I'll just have a few cameras & Place them at certain tables.. parents, grandparents, & BP....

I think they are cute, yeah youll get some duplicates but youll also get some great shots of guests that the photographer might not take... so im all for it..

i think its a great idea..you never know what great moment someone else will capture..especially if you have 1 photographer..

We are VERY glad we did table cameras!!!! Lets be honest, your photographer does get shots of your guests, but mostly of you and you BP! Granted, we got some odd shots, but I have to say 80% were great!!!

We were told to remind people to use the flash because that's the #1 thing people forget and that ruins pictures. We put a label right under the viewfinder that stated : Please use flash. It worked!!! We used Walmart processing, with the CD to share on the computer. Each roll, with CD, cost about $6-7 to process.

And yes, most of our guests had digital cameras with them. But no matter how much we begged for pictures after the wedding, we got them from 4 people.

I think a few years ago table cameras would have been a great idea, but now most people have a digital camera which means they can takes pics of anythign and everything without having to worry about film and developing crappy pics. Then people can send you the good pictures and you can just get them printed online or something.
We went to a wedding last year and at towards the end of the evening and the next day for brunch, a member of the BP had his laptop and a card reader and people would give him their memory card and he'd transfer the pics to the laptop and then burn all the pics on a cd or dvd for the couple... I thought that was a cool Idea so you can make sure u actually see the pics everyone takes.

So yea, I thinkt he camera idea is cute, but I'd be afraid of it being a waste of money.

i think that they are a good idea, if you don't think you photographer with capture all the shoot syou want. but I think for what people pay for photographers they should not need anymore help. Waste of money to me. beside I hate taking pictures at a weddig if I am the guest.
