Do you need a MC for the reception ?
I see a lot of people are not booking one so who will announce the bride and groom ?
Does the reception run smoothly without one?

In my opinion, a good DJ and/or band should be able to MC a wedding. My band leader will be acting as 'MC'

I needed an MC.. actually the only reason why I chose festive was to have the MC I had for my wedding.

A really good MC wont be annoying... I loved mine.

I agree,
My MC was Joe E of Tommy Tunes. He was awesome and DIDN'T force anyone on the dance floor, b/c all the people wanted to dance! This guy was awesome! He actually did Jamie Lynn Sigler's wedding [from THE SOPRANOS] so u know hes gotta be good! ! !

I'm not having an MC. I think my DJ will be able to get the job done on his own.

I just got married and we did not have one. To me the MC's job is to get your guests up and dance. My family and friends have no problem with that, so I saved the extra money. The DJ did all the announcing for entrance, father/daughter & mother/son dances, cake cutting, and anything else extra I asked him to say. He had no problem doing it and he was excellent at it! As a matter a fact I went to meet with him back when I first got engaged and I was going to get the MC (because I thought I needed one) and he talked me out of it. he asked if my family would dance and I told him yes they will definitely dance, and he told me 'then why are you getting an MC, I will do the announcing for you'. I was so happy that he said that because my family and friends did not need it. They were up on the floor dancing ALL night. The MC would have just done nothing all night.

My suggestion is if your family dances without a problem then save your money. If they need a little help getting up then the MC is worth the money.
