Do you need tissue.....?

.... on your invites?? My mom thinks it is MUST but all of the wedding invites I have received recently don't have the little piece of tissue paper in them.

They sent me some with my invites - i think it looks silly...but i put it in there (sent my first one today - overseas)...

If it came with the invites - i'd say do it...if not - don't bother..

It used to be used because the print type used even just a few years ago may smear..but the inks they use now are much better quality and are less likely to cause any problems...

i think the tissue was overrided when everyone started using purtty lined envelopes, but i think its cute that your mom likes it, my mom likes that stuff too~

I'm out on the tissue thing. I don't see the point. The invites aren't being handwritten anymore.

Now I think its just a 'formality/tradition' thing more than a 'purpose' kind of thing...

I have been to 4 weddings this year alone - no tissue in any of them. I am not doing it either.

exactly, the tissue used to be put in to protect the invites and now with printing them the tissue is not necessary but for some reason they still do it lol

if you get them when you order them, then yes but otherwise it's not necessary. you can if you want to.

I just opened up a wedding invite I received in the mail and there it is! that littile piece of tissue paper. Dont know its use though

I stuffed my invites tonight and they came with the tissue - so I used it. It made it look nice -but it serves NO purpose...
