Do you need to get centerpieces for rehearsal dinner?

Do you need to get centerpieces for rehearsal dinner?

I was expecting to do a no frills casual dinner the night before our wedding. From reading, I see that some girls are going all out for their RD.

Should it be more of a welcoming dinner that sets the tone for the wedding?

Me neither, but probably some balloons to make the room look happy!

I am not doing centerpieces either. My ILs are hosting this so the only thing I am going is the inviting!

If you have the time and energy then go ahead and do centerpieces. We didn't have them. Just had a relaxing and fun dinner with everyone. My inlaws actually brought chocolate bar favors for everyone and I didn't know they were doing that so it was nice.

No, we didn't have CPs for the RD. We had a casual dinner at my mom's house. On the buffet table she put a picture frame with us in it, but that was about it!!

We didn't...

My MIL was in charge and asked me if she thought we needed them. I thought it was an unnecessary expense.

the only cp's on the table were the bottles of wine and the pitchers of beer. i would not worry about it.

I think my parents had balloon centerpieces at my brothers' rehearsal dinners.

They got balloon bouquets and tied them to a weight. Then they put the weight in a paper bag. The club where they had the RD had candles on the table, too. They put some balloons around the room and it looked great!

My FMIL said she was gonna pick up sunflowers from the supermarket in big bunches and stick one at each place setting. We both love them and since we're not using them in the wedding flowers we though this would be a fun place to stick em ;o)

I wouldn't waste my $$ on it either.

I think balloons would be a nice touch. Other than that, all I want is a relaxed atmosphere and some vino or beer. Some unwinding before the wedding will probably come in handy.

I don't think that you should spend more money on that, wedding is more important, so just make it simple. Good luck
