Do you plan on working or staying at home?

Original post by peaches42587

Just curious what people plan on doing once they're married?

I want to be a house wife but I also want to make money so I guess I'll be working until we decide to have kids.

Ideally I'd like to work part-time once we have kids. I am going into a field where its definitely possible for me to do that, so it all depends on how much FH is making at the time. But I'm pretty sure FH will make more than enough that I can definitely do this.

Right now that's what I'm doing. I work around 27 hours a week for my Mom and will be going to school 2 nights a week. I am going to be so spoiled when it comes time for me to graduate and get a 'real' job

I'll be working! I can't imagine us being able to survive on one salary, plus I love my job. If our $$$ situation changes for the better, I think I'd be happy working part time white the kids are young. But I don't know if that's doable.

Working girl here!! I have a great job at a major company, and there's no way I'm slowing down. I think it will probably change though after we have babies. But in some capacity I will always work. I don't think I could stay home 24/7.

I will continue to work until we have children. Then I plan on being a stay-at-home Mom.

As much as I'd love to stay home some days, I do actually enjoy my job and would go stir crazy without it for now!

I would like to be a stay at home mom at some point in my life, but right now I don't see that happening the first few years of marriage.

I know I will be a crazy mom who's paranoid about how my children are taken care of; I'm like that with FH's nephew right now. So I would like to take care of my kids and then go back to work when they get to grade school.

I used to want to be a working mom but lately I have been changing my mind. FH has always said that if I want to go back I can and if I want to stay home I can do that too. So I will have to see how I feel at the time. I will definitely work until we have a baby!

I'm studying and plannign at the same time. With full time job.... I have one part 5 days before the wedding... I have no choice. The parts that I passed will expire.

As to future I would love to work part time. Preferably 3 days a week. FH is CPA also so tax season is crazy at out house.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be a stay at home mom!!! I think it's possible. FH has a good job... but he just started about a year ago... so right now it's just OK. In the future it will be great!!
I will most definately be working until we have kids. After kids are born it's up in the air! I don't really have someone who can take care of them while we are working... and I don't want to pay all my hard earned money to a baby sitter. I grew up with babysitters all the time... and I would prefer to not do that! We shall see how it all plays out!

I would love to be a stay at home mom, but I don't think that will be possible to live the lifestyle I want to live.
