Do you re-read books?

Do you re-read books?

Which ones? Why?

I read Even Cowgirls Get the Blues twice...in a row. I took me until the end of the book to really understand Tom Robbins' writing style.

I've read The World According to Garp a few times, 'cause I think it's just a great book.

I've read Like Water for Chocolate about a dozen times. It's such a sweet story and a quick read. When I find myself between books I'll pick it up to kill a few days until I get to the bookstore.

Never, cause there are too many other books out there that I want to read.

I usually do not re-read books that often although I have read Gulliver's Travel, The Diary of Anne Frank and the story of Helen Keller tons of times. I just re-used those books for multiple reports while I was in High School

I'll sometime re-read a favorite if I want something easy to read. I still enjoy the story the second time around. To me, it's sort of like watching a re-run or seeing a movie again.

I have read A Prayer for Owen Meany so many times I cannot count. Jitterbug Perfume as well. I always find myself gravitating towards the two when I feel uninspired. Both great novels

Not usually.

I have never read a book twice. The author of a book that I like, re-published a book that I read a long time ago under a new title and I purchased it w/o knowing. Man was I mad.

rarely...but I won't say never...

sometimes you want to reread for details...or b/c a movie comes out...

like Lord of the Rings- theres just so much detail in that...

I reread the Stand as well

but otherwise...I want to try to read new things

I don't normally, but I have to re-read A Prayer for Owen Meany. It took me a long time to get throught it b/c it was so long (and I'm a slow reader), but once I got to the end I realized it was the greatest book ever!! Now I have to go back for some of the details that I forgot by the time I got to the end!
