Now that we've met with all the photography and video vendors, trying to decide whether or not we really need one or tow photographers. There's a big difference in the quotes we received, but if we add in a 2nd photographer to the lesser priced one its not as big a difference.
I've heard different things from different people with some saying you don't need 2 and some saying you do. Any thoughts on this?

Honestly not to sure. It depends on what pictures you would like. I am having 2 because I want pictures of Fh and I getting ready that day.

I was thinking of having two myself because I want pictures of the boys getting ready as well. I also want different views. For example, me walking down the aisle and his expression at the end of the aisle. Just a thought!

DH got ONE photographer and I got the other one...
We got one photographer from 12:00-11:00 & the other one from 1:00-9:00

I only had one, but kinda wish I had 2 so that the second could take pics of DH and his family while the photographer was taking pics of me and my family before the ceremony. However, my saving grace was the fact that DH's friend is an amateaur photographer and since her DH was in the bridal party she followed the guys around and took the pics that the second photographer would have taken.

Yes. You need 2 photogs.
One is getting different shots than the other during the ceremony, and reception.
One is woth the groom and the bride....
But you have 2 people getting different angles, and can be in 2 different places at the SAME time.
One taking crowd reaction, one to get the entrance of the bridal party.
IMHO you need 2.

If it's in your budget, then yes it's worth it to have the different perspectives and photo opportunities. However, this it's not in our budget, we are only using one, a photographer acquaintance of FH's.

Who is your photographer? We are not getting ready in separate places so don't need to go to 2 different places and I really don't want to be photographed getting dressed anyway. It sounds like their philosophy is a good one, would want to check them out.

I have one photographer. He is going to go to FH to get pictures of him getting ready and then come to me, we decided to also get zap photos through our DJ to get more candida through out the night

I think it's worth it to have 2. They can be at two completely different places and angles and capture everything you want from the day. We wanted two for that reason as well as to have one with FH while he got ready that morning.

I haven't booked yet, but I'm going to have 2. I have over 200 people coming to my wedding and I don't want a moment missed. I also know way too many other brides who are REALLY unhappy with their pictures and regret not splurging a little more on photographers. If its a little out of my budget I will just have to downsize in another area. Pictures are important to me.

Im only having one. I think it all depends on your situation and how large your wedding is going to be? Will you and FH be getting ready at same place? For me and my FH its just not a necessity.

I think this has basically been addressed but I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents.
A friend of mine who got married recently gave me two pieces of advice she wish she had known before her wedding, and the main one was GET TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS. She was very adamant about this. She only had one and is now disappointed, there are no pictures of the cocktail hour and very few pictures of her guests.
I haven't had my wedding yet but based on this advice I will definitely get two.

Two all the way. We had different perspectives of all our moments and some of the 2nd photogs views were better and some of the 1st photogs views were better, etc. We also had each of the photogs at our getting ready locations. Much easier for them to not have to run around the day of your wedding.

We are having 2 photographers. I want pix of FH and the boys getting ready plus photos in dif angles and perspectives. Plus I feel 1 wont be able to capture everything. While something is happening here something may be missed over there.
