Do you remember what FH....

These are really great stories..esp if they are true..I guess I am in the minority. My parents have been married 25 years and my dad never formally proposed to my mom. My mom just got up from the couch one day and said 'so do you expect me to just see you all the time w no promise of marriage?' and my dad just replied 'oh you want to get married? sure, ok. let's do it, just let me know when.'
My other friends dated for years and one day she just suggested the idea of a wedding and her bf at that time said 'sure, lets get married..why not, we might as well!'..

My FH didnt do the knee thing. He just came over and when I opened the door, he just stood there looking green and walked in with the ring in his hand and this speech about how important I was in his life and said, 'you sure you want to do this?'...LOL..It just cracks me up because my friends were thinking I had given him an ultimatum when all I was doing was just telling hi I was open to dating other guys since I didn't just want to move in with him unless we would be living as husband and wife!

Men in general are very commitment-phobic. I think a good question to ask is, how many men out there try ti AVOID thinking about proposing marriage to a woman? My male friends are terrified of the ball and chain...

LOVE IT... I'm singing to Nelson... aint i baby... lol

I don't remember . It was our 4 year anniversary and I asked him if he wanted to exchange gifts when I opened mine there was a note attached to the balloon that said 'will you marry me' so I don't remember a single thing after i saw the note. I am assuming he actually said 'will you marry me'. All i remeber is thinking 'is this for real?? Is this actually happening??'

I wish I remembered. All i know is he got down on his knee and took out the ring box and I think he said-I love you so much or something like that and I just started crying, so I didn't really hear anything after that

its hard to say what the he!! was he mumbling about. 1st thing he said was 'I got something else for u' - after giving me my V-day present. after he said that, its all a jumble of half sentences and weird suggestions LOL
he was so nervous that all he kept going on and on about was if I dont like the ring he can return it and I dont have to wear it if I dont want or dont like and taht there is another coming so I can keep them both or whatever I want.
This went on for about 5 full mins which confused me so much I wasnt sure that he actually proposed

now and again I make him get down on one knee, take my ring and say 'will u merry me' cause he didnt that time

I am so meannnnnnnn

I do because we have the whole thing on video. FH proposed in our apartment, and had the flip video camera secretly running in the background.

Right now it's for our eyes only, but we'll probably share it with our children... when we have them :)

Everytime I watch it, I get teary!

I remember everything HE said, just not what I said! lol
long story short... we were in NC visiting friends, he and my BFFs hubby said they were running to the gas station while BFF and I were getting ready to go out to dinner.
I yelled 'I LIKE CANDY'.. skip ahead, dinner went well, I had a LARGE glass of wine... went to an ampitheater and took tons of pictures I knew it was coming, but he whispered in my ear 'I got you candy' and I said 'what kind' and he said 'GUESS' and I said 'i don't know' where he said 'well GUESS' and I don't remember if I said 'm&ms or milkyway' but he said 'no this kind' and pulled out my ring.

I jumped up and down and hugged him and he said 'so is that a yes?' and i said 'are you going to ask me?' and he whispered 'will you marry me' and I said 'get on your knee and ask' (we had talked about this before, I told him he had to get on one knee).. so he did and I said yes... meanwhile I had the ring on the whole time.. LOL

my FH didn't say anything. he replaced my everyday ring with the e-ring & told me to look on my desk. i found it & was in shock.
handed it to him to put it on me & said, 'are you serious?'
he said, 'yes.'
i said, 'ok, does anyone know?'
he said, 'nope, you have to tell everyone.'
i said, 'your father would be so happy.'
he said, 'he is happy.' (he passed away a year before we got engaged)

FH: 'would you come here for a minute?'
FH & I: *kisskisskiss*
FH: *sink down to one knee* 'Will you marry me?'
Me: *Smile, shake my head yes* 'No.......................okay yes!'

hahahahaha! Funny!

FH and I went out to dinner at the Crescent Beach Club to celebrate my birthday. We took a walk on the beach and began to write our names in the sand, I proceeded to nag him about how messy he was writing his name and how it wouldn't look nice in my FB pictures

He wasn't saying anything so I turned around and there he was on one knee behind me with the ring and that's about all I remember...lol...I just texted him and he doesn't know what he said either, lol...great

We were in Ocean City Maryland and went to Fagers Island for dinner. He kept asking the waitress if there was anywhere to walk. She told him about a boardwalk and gazebo on the other side of the restaurant. I though it was a little strange how he really, really wanted to go for a walk after dinner. When we got to the gazebo on the water, he took out a toy light up ring and told me he found it. I sarcastically held out my left hand and said 'oh funny, why don't you practice?' Then, he took out the real ring and got down on one knee. After that........wa wa wa wa wa wa---just like in Charlie Brown! I have noooooo idea! I was in such shock that I just kept asking if it was for real. I am so glad I am not the only one bc i really felt bad about not knowing everything he said.
