Do you send your registry info with your engagement party invite?
Hi Ladies,
Not sure what the protocol is on this, but we are having an engagement party at the end of August. Do you send your registry info with the invite for the engagement party, or is this just for the shower and wedding.

it may have been rude, BUT i didnt register at all ebfore my enaggement party.. I wanted money for the wedding..i think that gifts are just for the shower now a days.. lol
But its up to you.. if I wanted gifts, I would let people ask me. I wouldnt sendit with the card. IMO

Registry info is just for the shower - not usually for the engagement party and DEFINITELY NOT for the wedding.
Most people who go to an engagement party will give you money, and those who want to give a gift will find out where you are registered by word of mouth.

I agree with the posts before me..the ONLY way to get around it is by having a wedding website where one of the pages is registry info. Then you can include the link with the invites...as long as your website has other information besides just registry info!
I am having my engagement party on 8/1 and my FMIL is throwing it. I do not have a registry yet since it doesn't even make sense to have one until about 6 months before wedding (you'll have to update all the time since too far in advance items will surely be out of stock by the time your shower rolls around).

We included our registry to Macy's in our invite. We had just moved into our home and needed stuff!!! We got 50/50 money/gifts.

The etiquette is if you are having a party you cannot solicit gifts. The way you get around it with a shower is the shower is thrown for you by someone else, so it's like THEY are suggesting gifts for you. So I wouldn't put a registry card in the eparty invite. And traditionally gifts aren't even expected at engagement parties.

registry info is definatly only if you are planning on having a bridal shower..then you would put all that information in with the invitation.

I feel the same out E-Party is in August and we are not registering before the shower. I am sure there will be the few that do give gifts but most of you family and friends will give $..I hope lol

don't include a registry in your e party invites!
word of mouth only.
I didn't even register for my eparty. I was able to put a huge deposit on flowerfield with the money i got.

I didn't register before my eparty but people kept asking 'are you registered?'
and we would reply
'No you don't need to bring a gift we have no where to put anything just come and have a good time'
So everyone (except 1 person who brought a random gift) gave us a card with $.

we registered after our engagement invites went out as people were asking where we were registered! we honestly didnt even want gifts - we are having it as a celebration and inviting family and bridal party. but everyone is different! word of mouth spread about our registry so that was that! i wouldnt include it. if they want they will just get you a gift card to bbb or something!

We sent the registry info with the E invites.. I dont think it's a big deal at all.. All of the invites I've recieved recently have done the same.. I think people appreciate knowing where to shop.

we didnt register before the e-party, so we didnt include info. i didnt want to register that early, since, from experience, registering even the slightest bit early, items get discontinued!

I'm pretty sure that you are not supposed to send registry info in the e-party invites. You can have a registry for it but it's better than people hear it by word of mouth so let your mom or MOH know where you have a registry set up and they will let other people know if they ask. Most people though (esp. family) will probably give money.

Im not getting married till 2012, FMIL thought it would be a good idea to register so we did, and it was a lot of fun! ... I think you can def register before the e-party and then just change whatever you dont get incase something gets discontinued or you change your mind etc... but the guy we registered with thought we should register before our e-party not just before my shower.. he also gave us personalized registry invitation inserts knowing full well when our wedding was ...not saying we are going to use them for our e-party but he thought we should ...... and he does it for a living! HTH

My mom made me registry before the eparty invites went out so so could include them and than after she sent them out she said it was bad ettitqutte. But oh well I will gladly take cash or something we want. I hate returning stuff so we did send out our registry with the invites

We included the registry information! We needed stuff and since I am not having a shower in NY the e-party was more like a shower.
Really, I think you can do whatever you are most comfortable with.
