So I've been thinking I'd get my three BMs matching necklaces or jewelry as a surprise to wear on my wedding day, but one of my BMs just asked me about jewelry and if I had suggestions for what she should wear! I think she's considering buying new jewelry to wear for the day, and I don't want her to buy something special and then show up and say, 'Ooops, surprise, here's my gift to you, now wear it!'
How did you handle this- did you tell your BMs in advance what their gifts from you would be, if you expected them to wear your gift at your wedding?

Re: Do you tell your BMs about their gifts?
I really didn't want to ruin the surprise, but I also didn't want the situation you explained. I just told them to 'only worry about the Dress and Shoes' since I got them Jewelry and Clutches, but wasn't specific about the gifts.

Do you tell your BMs about their gifts?
You could just play it off like u can't decide, and ask that they wait for you to make up your mind.....

I haven't decided yet, but I'm in a wedding in 2 weeks and my friend just told us we can wear whatever jewlery we want but she has earrings for us. It didn't really ruin the surprise because I still have no idea what they look like.

I'm not telling them, if they buy new jewelry they'll just save it for some other occasion. I doubt they're going out to buy really expensive jewelry so it wont matter that much.

My girls know I picked the jewelry up, but don't know what it looks like and one even asked me how much she owed as she knows money is tight for us. I let her know we didn't know what we were doing yet.
We are giving them the jewelry, they will have to pay for the hair and make-up IF they want it done.
MOH is doing the hair, it is her profession and will either discount the girls or do it for free. She is doing mine as a wedding gift by request as I don't want her spending more than she can afford.
