That a close friend or relative who you never knew (officially that is)was gay all your life (even though you secretly suspected)...Now lives openly gay yet never said anything about it?
My cousin i always new was gay, even though my family never believed me. She recently bought a condo with her 'girlfriend' but never really ever came out to anyone....
She just started living the lifestyle...
Do you think this is odd?

I have an Aunt that's lived with another woman for as long as I've been alive. It's obvious they're in a relationship, but they don't talk openly about it and my Grandparents are in denial about it to this day.

My aunt (who passed away) did that....we always suspected ...she was butchy never had a boyfriend etc...and then in the last few years of her life she was bringing this lady friend of hers to family functions and stuff...not sure if they were living together...everything is a bug freakin secret in my family...It was strange though...

My mom's cousin is gay and has a committed partner and I don't remember a coming out. It may depend on the people. Maybe there was no need to tell everyone, just the act of moving in with a girlfriend and acknowleding her as a girlfriend was enough.

me too, only the 'friend' died (they were like 70 and still living together). everyone knew but never said anything. i guess it was just something that never needed to be talked about

Um....Not Really maybe she needed firm up something in her live and feel like if it ended up that the family didn't except it she could deal with ...its got to be hard

I had a very similar situation. We were almost certain my aunt was gay... and unfortunlatly it was confimed after she passed away suddenly (not unfortunate that she was gay, unfortunate the she passed away ).
But, yeah, we fould like letters that they had written eachother when we were going through her stuff.
It was kind of strange to find out the way we did, but we were always pretty sure if it.

I don't think it's too strange. I think some people just chose not to address certain things openly like sexual preferences. Maybe you can talk to her about it?
