Do You Think It's Odd To Only Have Best Man and MOH?

Do You Think It's Odd To Only Have Best Man and MOH?

We have decided to keep our reception at Leonard's and probably have around 140 people. I was able to take some options off to make the price way lower than what it was.

I really hate spending all of this money, and even though it might not be as small as I want, I still just want a simple wedding. If we have a bridal party, it would be like 6 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen. I think bridal gifts can come out pretty expensive in that case, and also since I'm not into the planning, I know it's going to be a pain to have to go for dresses and everything. At least with just my sister as MOH, we just get her dress or order it, and that's all. We'll still have 2 flowergirls and 2 ringbearers in the party too. Do you think it's weird to JUST have the best man and MOH in bridal party?

NO, NO, NO.

This to me is PERFECT!!!!

I only had a MOH, I did have 5 gm just to make DH happy.

I really wanted something simple- it worked out great for me.

Great, I didn't know if other people had done this. I think it's so much simpler, and it's sure going to save his parents on the rehearsal dinner.

I think it's a great idea. The simpler, the better when it comes to bridal parties. I have been in too many large bridal parties, and it was not fun. Good luck!

It's your day and there is absolutely no rule about the number of people in the bridal party. I think it will be very special and youhave nothing to worry about. I'm actually having 4 people: MOH/BM and then one bridesmaid and one groomsman. If they didn't mean the world to us then I'd just have a MOH and BM. I've been in some really big bridal parties and some small ones and I personally loved the smaller ones...we were all so close and had so much fun with all the planning and preparing.

I think its fine! we are only having 2 each, my sister and my best friend, and his two best friends. It would hve been out of control if we had included everyone!

It's your day and you do what you want...I think it's wonderful.

To be honest, I wish sometimes that I had done it that way. Although I love my bridesmaids to death, I have found there to be too much drama and aggravation. Most importantly, it is YOUR wedding which means you have the freedom to do as you wish!! Good luck!!

Btw: It is called a 'kings wedding'. I think they look very classy.

Just wanted to add....I have been in a few bridal parties...some big where the drama made it not fun. My friends where I was in their BP, totally understand why I didn't want a big BP...but they are still there to help if I need something. They have come shopping with me, or offered advice, etc. I don't think they feel left out, just because they are not wearing matching dresses the day of the wedding. Honestly...they are probably relieved since it's such a big expense.

I am doing it nice and simple too. One MOH (my sis) one Brides Maid (his Sis) one BM (his friend) and one Usher (his friend)
No Ring bearers no flower girls.

Fmil keeps asking why I 'can't' have a flower girl. There is no reason I have plenty of kids to put in the party I just want to have as stress free wedding as possible. I don't want to have to take pictures for 3 hours b/c we need to line people up and the kids arnt behaving.
Simple and Hopefully stress free.

Yeah, I've read about a lot of drama going on with BMs and such on here. I think it'll be a lot easier this way. I just have to talk my fiance into going with it because he really wanted to have more, but hey I am letting him have his bigger wedding where he can invite more people, so he should be happy enough with that. I swear, I think he should have been the bride.

just the two are fine

however if you really want these people, you can just tell the girls get a dress in satin in this color, and they could do it on their own, and you could get them a cheaper BM gift...im sure they would just be happy to be in the party...

I agree 100% We are only having one MOH, one BM, one GM and one BM. 2 flowergirls and one RB. I didnt want anything bigger and so far am not regretting my decision.

absolutely not !!!

My advice: Choose people wisely and don't always involve certain people because it is the 'right' thing to do. If I could go back I would(we already ordered dresses).

Choose those people you think would take it as an HONOR and would help you. That is what a bridal party is for(to support you and stand up for you on the most important day of your life).
