when someone asks you how big your ring is? As in 'how many carats is your ring???' I get this question a lot.

No one has ever asked me this. I dont even know what I'd say. A few girls will hint that they want to try it on... HEEEEEEEEEEELL NO! Took me long enough to get it, I'm never letting another girl try this sucker on!
oh hell no, i dont even like people touching it lol
Mee too!!! This weekend we saw people we have not seen since I have been engaged and they were grabing my finger and touching my ring and kept on doing it all night.... even when i was talking to someone else, they grabbed my finger ate touched it and stuff... at one point she asked me if i could take it off, and I shot her down right there and said NO! I felt a little bad afterward b/c i was real mean about it, but than again, i am never taking this ring off my finger for ANYONE! it is mine!!!! LoL

People are so unbelievable sometimes! Honestly, I don't even know how much my ring cost...FH refuses to tell me. he got it insured before he gave it to me!

yes i think its rude and your esponse should be I'm very lucky to have gotten a ring I don't get caught up like others on the size which clearly you( the person who asked you) have an interest in!
I think it's so rude that the person who asked you deserves a bit of shame!

I haven't had mine for too long yet (only 2 weeks yesterday). I let my sister try it on, as I know she really wants a new one (she doesn't even wear hers anymore). The only one's who have asked me how big are my mom, sister, and my close girlfriends. Most of whom asked when I called to tell them the news. And they asked in the context of 'describe the ring'. I don't mind the question from them, but I might mind if it came from a total stranger.

Its funny because in Irish tradition, its good luck to try on someone's e-ring, and make a wish on it!
I know theres a few Irish Americans on here, but in the actual country this is what happens. Im a born citizen, so when fh and I went over there, I gladly let my family try it on
It doesnt really bother me if someone asks. Im like ehh whatever. Sometimes people are just nosey...

I have been asked that question a few times and I refuse to answer it. I would not ask it of others either. I do think that it is rude. It is one thing to compliment a ring, but it is quite another to ask that question, in my opinion.

It seems kind of awkward when people ask, it always feels like they put you on the spot.

OMG, cute!?! Such a weird thing to say. I always say that the negative comments are just jealousy.
