Do you think it's weird if.....

my mom wears a similar color to the color of the BM dresses?

My girls are wearing a silver/purple color and my mom chose a dress that is an eggplant color. The dress looks great on her but it doesn't come in any other colors. Also my aunt purchased a dress that is almost the same color as my mom's. I'm just afraid that we are going to look like a Barney parade with all the purple.



So is it weird for my mom to have a color in the same color family as my bridesmaids? How about my aunt? Also, what color would you suggest for the MOG?

as long as you are okay with it then it should be okay. i would prefer if my mom looked a little different but thats my opinion

you know whats funny i was thinking of having my mom match the moh and jb dress something similar in color..so i think its totally ok

i think its tottally fine... if you are both comfortable with it then who cares? my mom is wearing black and so is fh's mom... people will end up talkin about anything anf everything...

I am not sure if I am okay with it. I am letting my girls all pick their own dress so they'll be in the same color but not the same style. I think that if my BM were wearing the same dress then I'd be more okay with it but I am afraid that the colors will look too similar and that she will end up looking like one of the BM.

Our colors are shades of purples and shades of greys. My mom wants to wear either black or grey and I am totally ok with it. I have bigger fish to fry like making sure FH DOES get a haircut for the festivities :)

No thats finemy mom wore the same color to my sisters wedding as us Navy Blue & im having black & my mom is wearing black too. So i think its fine. Id rather her match really.

I think it's fine. My girls are wearing brown and most likely my mom will too.

If they are fine with it then I say don't worry, but I think that your aunt should have waited see what color your mom was wearing before buying her dress, because like you said, you want your mom to stand out a bit, IMO

Personally, I actually think it looks better when the MOB wears a dress in the same color family as the BMs. So I vote for your mom to get the eggplant color dress!

I think its fine if its the same color family. It sounds like its darker so it won't match them completely and if she loves the dress then why not.

I think its ok. My mom wants to wear a dark blue and the girls are wearing light blue. It matches.

i personally don't see a problem with it....if your mom and you are comfortable with that then go for it, it is your wedding so you have to be happy with everything at the end of the day!

My friend's mom wore the same color as us and it looked great!

not at all. my FMIL is going to wear green and so are my BM. but the dresses are COMPELTELY different and their's has a brown cumberbund.
