Do you think that floral centerpieces would cost more around Mother's Day?
O.k., so just today I realized that Mother's Day is the day after my e-party. I knew Mother's Day was in May, but didn't know it was soooo close to my party. Well, anyways, I only had one florist tell me that because it is around Mother's Day- floral centerpieces would be more expensive. Every other florist that I have been in contact with me as not mentioned anything like this..(unless they are just including it in the price and not coming out saying it). Do you all think that because it is so close to Mother's Day I would be charged more? Thanks.

I dont know about at an actual florist. But for my wedding, I am buying flowers online and doing my own bouquets and some of the sites say that it is 15% more for the week around Mother's Day. So it may be more at a florist also - I think it depends on each individual florist. Good luck!!

Yes, this is correct! My original date of 5-6-05 was changed to 5-27-05 because not only are flowers a LOT more expensive around Mother's Day, but some florists actually told me that they couldn't do my wedding because they would be too busy with orders. If you can change the date, I would...one weekend (the one after) makes a big difference.

Wow...really. Even if I were to order flowers now- they would still charge more? Well I assume so cause it's not liek they would give me the centerpiece now anyways. So you recommend to get a florist ASAP for that date just because Mother's Day is right the next day? I never even thought about florist being too busy to take orders. Thanks for the tip.

I saw that also- On the wholesale flowers site. It said it was increasing prices around Valentine's. If they increase for Valentine's, then they must for Mother's Day.

I had that problem when I was looking for a florist for my wedding. I was looking at using a neighborhood florist and most of them told me that they would be very busy and didn't think thay could do a wedding. If your using a florist that focuses only on weddings you shouldn't have a problem. I also was doing all low centerpieces which made it easier for my florist to handle on Mothers Day weekend.
