I don't, but a friend of mine who is 48, she has no bridesmaids because she feels she is 'to old'

I don't think so... My cousin just go married this past November. She's 41 and she had a 2 MOHs and 2 BMs.
I guess it's really just personal preference. Heck there are brides who are younger that don't have BMs.

My sisters were 46 and 48 when I got married. They didnt want to be bridesmaids so I didnt ask them to be. IAs a result, I didnt ask my DH's sisters to be BMs either despite their ages - 25 and 30. Im sure they were upset about it, but if my sisters werent going to be BMs, neither were his. I would have ended up with a huge BP which would have made me miserable. I did make it very clear to my BP to include my sisters in shower planning - they did. My sisters were TOTALLY ok with not being in the BP.

you're never too old. it's a matter of personal preference. i have a co-worker/friend who had a larger bp than i did and she was 40 when she got married.
but i also understand how she feels. since this was my second marriage (although my first was just in city hall), there were a lot of things that i didn't do because i felt it would 'look funny'... i wasn't a 'blushing bride'. this is why i opted for a small event, rather than a big affair.
