Do You Think This is Okay or Not? Poll

This is one out of the two dresses my mom liked that she tried on at David's Bridal yesterday. I really liked it. The problem is that it would be in periwinkle, like a light blue, and this is for a November wedding, so I don't know if that is all wrong for the month. The only other color she could get is navy, and FH's mom's dress is that color. Do you think this would be wrong for her to wear in November in light blue? I really liked the style on her.

Ha, I know you guys will give me an honest opinion and are probably more knowledgeable about this stuff. I have no idea if it would be alright or not.

I think it will look great, esp. if your corsages are sort of 'fall' colors. My girlfriend got married last november and had her BM wearing periwinkle. I would not have thought fall colors went well with such an 'springy' blue, but they did. The bouquets were burnt oranges and yellows, and it really looked fantastic!

What color corsage do you think would be good with a periwinkle dress? I was just doing flowers yesterday and put her for a white corsage, but perhaps then that would look too springy.

I voted no. Sounds kinda weird. But then again you didn't say what colors your bridesmaids are wearing. What color are they wearing?

I'm just having one maid of honor, she'll be wearing a dark red.

My sister-in-law and two friends said light blue is too summery, so I really don't know what she should do. It's just that, if it were December, wouldn't that color be okay because ice blue and winter go together?

Oh, FH's mom is wearing a navy blue dress, but it will also have a strip of light blue in it.

I think it's totally fine, but I might just know people who don't care about stuff like that! I've never run into the whole 'appropriate seasonal colors' question before. Would people really notice/care?

I think if both moms are in complementary shades of blue, it will look really nice.

I don't think many people do that anymore - match with the season. I say do what makes you happy

I think whatever you and your Mom want is fine - not too many people go with tradition anymore.

I think its fine, my FMIL really wants to wear pink and i said i didnt care. afterall, my colors are brown and pink, so she will match. but its not like she is wearing yellow!

I think it's fine!! My friend mom just wore that same dress in light blue for her son's wedding a month ago--it's so pretty!

Thanks! I'll see what my mom decides to do. Some people are so judgmental, so I just don't want people to be like 'oh she looks like she's in the wrong season with that dress.'
