I think these other BMs are rude! I've been in a few weddings where I didn't like the dress, shoes, jewelry, whatever, but you know what? It's not my day and the wedding wasn't about me. You know when you're a bridesmaid that you might not get to pick out anything you wear that day. Those girls should be happy that someone bought them the necklaces and that they didn't have to buy them on their own.

Tell the bride to put her foot down and have those BMs wear the jewelry. I can't believe how the poor mom feels- that's awful!!

It does seem a bit rude, but I really dont wear jewlery and would not want to be forced into wearing something.

Well thank you girls for giving your opinions. Atleast now I feel like I wasnt the only one that felt that it was rude.


The bride has now spoken to each bridesmaid individually and has requested that out of respect for her mother that we all wear it the day of the wedding.

IMO they are wrong! The wedding isn't about them or their taste! It is abou t the union of two people, and how they want to celebrate. I don't understand how people can get so caught up in the most pointless stuff! Seriously, I've gone to weddings where I've hated what I wore, but I kept my mouth shut, bc it is not my decision! If they are close enough friends to be in the bridal party, they should be more concerned about the bride's feelings...deciding not to wear her mother's gift could cause the bride to feel in the middle of a bad situation- why are they putting her through this! Suck it up, wear it for 5 hours, and let it go!!

Thats is VERY rude... once you agree to be in a bridal party... you have to just do what makes the BRIDE happy.... that is insane to take it upon themselves to decide not to wear what the BRIDE wanted them to wear... TERRIBLE!!! RUDE!!!

I think that's totally rude. OK.....even if they do not like the style or whatever their reasons may be, this woman went out of her way and spent her money on something that she thought was nice for them. I think they need to just suck it up for the day of the wedding and wear at as a 'show of appreciation' for the day that it was meant to be appreciated and not the RD!
