Do you think we as humans get natural mating instincts that we ignore...
...because we are tired or stressed or annoyed?
I am not thinking of TTC for a year or from now but I was just reading all of the charting and scheduling and temperature taking that goes on and it made me think about animals. They seem to know when to mate and it works for them. Has anyone ever thought that maybe our bodies tell us when to BD and we ignore it? We make excuses why we can't and we'll do it later? Maybe that is the time we SHOULD be doing it. The time that will result in pregnancy.
Just an idea that I was thinking of...

I tend to agree with this theory... when DH and I decided to TTC, I decided not to use OPK's or chart my temperature, and go with my gut feeling. I can usually tell when I'm ovulating because for a few days in a row I feel like jumping DH every 10 minutes of the day With both pregnancies, I got pregnant first try. And, with both, I KNEW I was ovulating even though it was about 4-5 days early for ovulation. I went with my gut instinct, and here we are, 16 weeks later!

BUT OF COURSE. I didn't realize it until I started reading the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It pretty much teaches you how to stay in touch with your body. Though, temperature is a good way to monitor when you ovulated, it's past tense... because the moment your temps change, it means it's passed. Not to give TMI, but I never realized that the discharge us women get (sometimes) on a daily basis... that's how u keep track, and pretty much know when you're body is ready for pregnancy.

I just started charting, its amazing how complex our bodies are. I never really took notice of all the changes we go thorugh and what these changes really mean. There's lots to know.

I also think we just don't KNOW the signals. Like before learning about TTC I really didn't know that EWCM meant you were fertile. I just thought it was something strange that happened, or happened before AF since i wasn't paying attention to my cycles then.
