We are getting married the Friday of Labor day weekend, but we are having it close to home. Do we have to do them or can I just do the invites like 3 months before? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Andrea

I do not think you have to. I think it's a choice if you want to, but I don't think it's necessary.

I would recommend to send them because it is a holiday weekend.
You don't have to send them to everybody. I sent mine to family and our friends, not our parents friends.
ETA: If you do decide to send them, do it soon.

An alternative would be to ask your mom to spread the word to family and friends.

Ordinarily I would say no, but I agree, that since it is a holiday weekend, if you wait too long, people might make plans to go away - it's the 'last hurrah' of the summer and I know a lot of people who usually go away that weekend.
Unless of course, your guest list is too big and you are hoping you get some nos.....
we did them because we had a lot of out of towners. If most people were local, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

tough call - holiday weekends ppl make plans early so you might want to send them -
on the other hand - when you send out STD you are locked into inviting ppl that later on you might have knocked off your list!

I think STD's should be definitely sent out for weddings that are on a holiday or a holiday weekend. STD's also are great to send out for Friday weddings, because it gives people more time to take off that day or leave early. Other than that, it's just a matter of preference.

I'd say yes only because it's a bg holiday weekend! But then again, anyone that's worth being there already knows you're getting married and dosnt need a reminder!! So it shouldn't much matter! Depends on you!

I would definitely do stds. That weekend, everyone is trying to fit in the last vacation before the kids go back to school.
