I'm not having my alterations done at the place I purchased my gown. Do I tip the seamstress who is doing my alterations?

What did you do?

I would imagine so, but I can't say for sure yet.

I had an outside seamstress work on my dress and I gave her 50 bucks..
It seems she spent so much time on it ( I had to go back 3 times) and she was sweet and didnt charge me that much to begin with

I've never tipped a seamstress, and I've used them a lot!! But I think it might be similar to a salon. If they own the store-- no tips, if they just work there tipping is fine.

For my dressmaker I will probably give a gift but not a tip.
