do you tip for a dance lesson?

do i give a tip to the dance instructor where we have a lesson this weekend? hes one of the instructors who works for that dance studio.

i dont know .. i guess i threw it in with 'wedding vendors' and seems like ur supposed to tip most of 'em

I wouldn't. That would be like my parents tipping my instructor when I did ballet, tap, jazz.... That would be a heck of a LOT of$$
If you feel he/she did a wonderful job I would say on your last day of your lessons if you still want to. I wouldn't though.

Sonia,

a)your dance instructors are not 'wedding vendors' b/c their business doesn't depend just on weddings, they teach non-wedding people too

b)you don't have to tip all vendors, especially if their services were simply ok, or if they are not yet finished with services (such as photo and video). I know that its customary, but the only place that has you put in a mandatory tip is your catering hall (which is fair, I think). The photo, video is based on service, after you receive it fully, the band you'll have to decide at the end of reception. You don't have to tip your invite people, or your clergy if you're already paying a fee...

Sorry for the long post, but I do find tipping to be a bit on the outrageous side.
