Do you tip an owner of the company and if so how much. I have read you dont but then i heard you do!! So in your opnion which is it?
The following vendors i am using are owners of the company and i will be having them for the day of:

Im going to because they are still performing a service for me and i want to show them that i appreciate what they did for me.
Still trying to figure out how much but i am going to tip them though.

You are generally not supposed to tip owners of businesses. You might for excellent service but you are certainly not expected to.

I think if a service is performed and they did a good job I gave a tip even though they were an owner but thats me.

for those of you who said yes ... how much would you. Makeup artist i was planning on too so i have to covered but, i was thinking for the video and photo is 75 each good ... should i do more ... DJ i was thinking maybe a 100 ... i dont know i really hate this whole tipping stuff!!!

i tiped but minimally...hair and make up both owned so gave them each 20. My video guy owns but he is spectacular so I gave him a normal tip as if he didn't own...100.

I did... I feel strange not tipping for a service regardless of whether they are the owner or not. That's just me.
Honestly, I never heard of not tipping an owner until coming across this site.

Too funny. My mom and I were just talking about this today. My photograher, videographer, and DJ are all owners and I think i'm going to tip them all. I think I would just feel strange not tipping them. I think I set aside $100 for each.
Bonus question - what is everyone tipping their bridal attendants and maitre'd??

I tipped my ceremony music person $50 and the DOC who is the owner $200 and the MC who is the owner $75 and the DJ $100. Hair & Makeup $100.

My DOC told me she would tip the photog and videog (both owners) because those are the two people who you deal with after the wedding day.

i always say yes, if they do a great job regardless of if they own the business i always show them my appreciation, jmo

I had no idea either. My photographer and Videographer both owned their companies. I didn't think they should be tipped but I felt strange not tipping. I gave each of them $75. I gave photog's assitant $50....My DJ didn't own the company. I gave him $100.

My hall suggested $2 to $4 per person for the Maitre'd and the bridal attendant $50 to $100. (low compared to what other halls told me when I visted them) I'm not sure what we ended up giving. My dad took care of this one.

I think we tipped all of the owners. We did not however tip 2 people who we were unhappy with who were not owners.
Hair: 40% because I would have paid MUCH more and she was so good with everyone.
Makeup: 15% because he was overpriced and made me late.
Photographers: We had both owners and we gave them $100 because they were awesome.
Steel Drum Band: 20% (only 1 person was the owner) & it wasn't enough because we didn't know they showed up with extra people playing!
Also, though I'm not sure if it's applicable. Burton's dropped off my flowers before I was able to tip them and when I tried to catch them they were out the door. *shrug*
