Do you want to be stay at home Mom?

I have a question for you ladies. Who wants to be a stay at home Mom when they have kids? If you could swing it financially would you or would you want to continue with your career? Many people have been asking me the 'when are you having kids' question? I am not even married yet and people are asking me about kids. I definitely think that is the toughest job around. But I would love to stay at home with them for a few years when they are little. What does everyone else think?

If we could financially swing it I would be a stay at home mom in a heartbeat. My mom was and I think that is why we are so close. After they are school age I would like to go back to teaching.

I don't want to be a stay @ home mom. - And when I say that people look at me like i'm an awful person...........I just can not give up my entire identity to 'wife' and 'mother' ....... I work just as hard as FH, why isn't anyone asking HIM to stay home ???

I am so lucky to have the job that I have. I work for a PT office doing the billing out of the owners home. His wife does it with me, she has 4 kids (one of which is my godson) and I am allowed to take my kids to work (when I have kids). The office is right next to a huge playroom for the kids. So FH and I are going to have kids right away. We can't wait.

DEF going to stay home until my last child is in Kindergarten...then I can go to school with them and be there in case anything happens....god i love being a teacher

As long as were okay financially, I'd like to until they're in school. I'm a teacher, so I'll still be able to stay home in the summer, and kind of be on the same schedule as them. If not till kindertarten, then at least until the youngest (if there's more than one) is in pre-school.

I actually have a future step son so I can't really count I guess but I work. It's sad to say but I use it as my time away from the house. Lol

Good point...I just asked him and he wants to stay home too...hehe. Hope that mega millions tickets I bought today hits on Friday!

I would like to maybe work from home. I want to do career counseling, so maybe see clients at my house, or via emails.....we'll see. It would be nice though!

I am a stay at home mom
I am in the PTA
I have a house and a minivan
It is the best 'job' and most rewarding 'job' I have ever had
I am going to mommy and me class tomorrow and I am so excited!!!!I tried to go back to work after my daughter was born but I only lasted a few months and I couldn't bare to be without her

I would LOVE to be a stay at home mom, but if I am making more than FH at that point and we can live on my salary, he has no problems at all staying home.

I can't wait to stop working...kids or no kids....I hate working. I'm looking forward to not working once I get married, hopefully if FI new project works out...keep your fingers crossed.
