I ask because FMIL informed me that she does not want an album of our wedding pictures. She said she just wants one picture. I think that this is strange...why wouldnt you want pictures from your child's wedding?? What is everyone else's parents saying???

I know my mom wants one, because she said so. I don't know about his mom. I didn't ask, and I don't know if he did, but he specifically asked the photographer about it, so I assumed he had talked to his mom about it.

My parents want one and they wanted picture too. I got 8X11 thrown into my package for each set of parents and my package already included the parent albums. I know FH's parents will want one as well.

My FH's parents, and My Mom will get an album it won't be included in the package, it will cost us alot of money. As for my dad, he misplaced my others siblings wedding pics. So I am debating whether to give him one. I don't know if I should?

Re: Do yours/his mom and dad want an album??
I asked my Mom and she said no she didn't want one. Then I asked his Mom she said no she didn't want one. A couple months later we take our e-pics. Both of our Mom's keep making comments how we have not given them any pictures yet from the e-shoot. (I am giving them pictures in a frame to both sets of parents for Christmas.)
So I decided I will make the albums of the wedding for both parents for next Christmas. My photographer allows this. The photographer also puts the pictures onto a DVD w/music so they will be getting that as well.
So what have I learned from this? I am doing what I want anyway. Lol I think the only reason they said no albums was because it would just mean we are spending more money (FH & I are paying for the wedding ourselves).

Re: Do yours/his mom and dad want an album??
Oh I know my mom will want one. I think FH's parents will want one but herein lies an issue. My mother is paying for about 80% of the wedding with FH and I paying for the other 20%. I told him I didnt think it was fair for my mother to pay for HIS parent's album.
In order to solve this problem, we decided that our 20% contribution will cover the cost of photo and video (as well as other things) so the confrontation of asking his parents for money doesn't have to happen and we can give them a 'gift'.

Re: Do yours/his mom and dad want an album??
My mom originally told me she just wanted a picture for the wall (she has all my brothers' and sisters' wedding pics on one wall), but when she heard we were going to get an album for the FIL she decided she wanted one too!

Re: Do yours/his mom and dad want an album??
my parents AND FH's parents said that..i was like?!?!?!? WHAT??????!?!!?!?! but, i found a place on line where i will be making one for them....i know them all and they prob think its just more money that doesnt really need to be spend....BUT, i found a place on line to make table top books (im doing one for a bm with all her artwork) and they are VERY nice and like 30$..so we are going to make them for the parents. ill give you the website if you want. i personally think its a great alternative to parent wedding albums and now that i got this idea im happy they are not spending hundres on them!

My parents said the same thing. They said people generally look at the album once and then it is just put away. They said they would prefer an 8x10 (we are giving them both anyway).

Re: Do yours/his mom and dad want an album??
My mom has hung a pic of of my brothers and sister in her living room. She doesn't want us to waste money on an album that she will look at maybe once or twice. She will take pics with her camera and take copies from my sister and create her own album she wants. However my FMIL says that she has to have one even though she stated she looked at her wedding album twice! Some people are just way different.

Re: Do yours/his mom and dad want an album??
This is a good question considering I haven't asked either set of parents yet. We were just assuming they both want an album (which will cost us extra $$) since I'm the only daughter and he's the only child in his family to have a wedding.
