do you..sleep with your ring on?

SLEEP with your engagement ring on ?? or do you take it off before you go to bed?

sometimes i just get worried about the stone getting loose or i dont know what!...even though mines is secure in a 6prong setting...and than to top it all of im scared to take it off to cuz i dont wana lose itt ...

I sleep with my engagement ring on. I was thinking about taking it off before going to bed but I know I'll wake up nervous that I missed placed it all the time!

I sleep with it on- and I only hve 4 prongs.

I only take it off when I take a shower. I found it was getting caught in my hair. My mom wears hers, with 4 prongs 24-7 for the past 30 years with no problems.

I take mine off at night ... I'm more worried about the damage I'd do to it in my sleep!

I got one of these ring holders as a gift, so that's where I put my ring at night

I have a little silver cat with a LONG tail for rings- It is a ring holder I bought so that I have a specific place to put it while I sleep. It is in my bathroom right next to the sink where I keep my perfume. I take it off my finger and put it on there before I go to bed and then before I leave for work I put it back on my finger.

That way, it is not on my finger while I sleep- my jeweler told me that it could very easily get caught on a blanket or thread and I could bend a prong or loosen the stone... So that is when I stopped wearing it to bed and bought the silver cat. I was like when he told me that.

Then, he also mentioned that he does not recommend having it on while bathing or getting ready- hairspray, shampoo, conditioner, etc etc etc are all not good for the ring (chemicals). The same thing with any type of make up, perfume, etc. So I just keep it on the cat while I get ready so I don't have to worry... it hangs downward and then nothing gets on it.

ETA: I actually had a scare- which is what prompted me to ask my jeweler about sleeping w/ it on- I was at work and happened to brush my hand against my head (putting my hair behind my ear) and I heard 'jingle, jingle' from my ring!! So I was like oh crap!! And put it in my wallet (in the zipper part) for the rest of the day and went directly to my jeweler... He explained that I had bent a prong, loosened the setting and that he felt I was 'hard on my ring'... I always thought I was so careful- and apparently I was, during the day, but then he figured it must be while sleeping- and he was right, I would wake up with all these little fuzzies in my ring and stuff. He fixed it for me, the stone was all loose (hence the jingle) and that is when I bought the cat! SCARY!

I take mine off at night. I can't sleep with jewelry on...it makes me uncomfortable, so I put it back in it's box. Like you, I am worried about loosening the setting, even though mine is also a six prong setting.

I've only taken my ring off to wash dishes (i'm scared it'll slip off) and when I've gone to the beach.

I feel naked without it.

im worried about misplacing too, but we should get a ring holder!

I take mine off to sleep, shower, wash my hands, do my hair, cook, clean....basically everything that involves water, chemicals, or the possibility of it getting loose. I keep it in its box when I'm sleeping. Even though its probably safe when its on me, i find that wearing it to bed or under water gets it dirtier quicker and leaves little peices of hair caught in the prongs

I am a geek, I never take my ring off. I am afraid that I will forget to put it back on. It is a bezel setting so I think it is less of a risk than a prong setting.

I take EVERYTHING off when I go to sleep. Too much info?
