For those girls having/had a DOC:
1 - Why did you feel you needed a DOC?
2 - Did you have to convince someone (family or FH) in order for them to understand?
1) i didnt want to worry about taking care of anything the day of. Like if something went wrong I could just let my DOC handle it. I wanted a stress free day.
2) yes i had to convince FH. I gave him the reasons in question 1 and he still didnt understand. I told him that I do for everyone else and I want someone to do for me for that day. Untill this past Saturday he still was trying to talk me out of it until he realized we needed someone to do certain things for the church and the RH (the unity candle, pew bows, give out programs, make sure RH is set up like we want it amongst other things.) He finally has stoppedd bothering me about it.

1. I didn't want to have my BP, Family or Friends running around trying to put out fires and I sure as heck wasn't going to do it. I just wanted one day where I didn't have to worry about anything.
2. No - I didn't have to convince anybody - It was no one else's decision, but mine.

1 - Why did you feel you needed a DOC?
I didn't want to worry about anything the day of and didn't want my mom or sister (MOH) to have to either. If anything was going wrong, I didn't want any of us to be bothered with any of those details. It was important for me to have someone there to handle all of that.

DH and his family had no idea that I booked the DOC, so I didn't have to convince them. DH wasn't involved in the wedding planning at all, so I was able to hide certain details and this was one part that I fully paid for

Re: DOC - 2 Questions
I didn't want to have any worries on the wedding day. Also I feel like a put a lot of effort into the little details for the RH and I wanted to make sure that my vison was exceucted the right way. It also helps knowing that I will have someone there taking care of the final paymenst and dealing with all of the vendors. But can a Matre D do a lot of this, yes they can.

Re: DOC - 2 Questions
I dont want to have to worry about anything on my wedding day. She's going to handle everything from taking everything home from the church to checking us into our hotel. I also have a vision in my head of what my reception room is going to look like and I want to make sure its spot on.
I didn't have to convince FH too much. He was happy about having someone to take away our stress and as soon as he met her he was sold.

Re: DOC - 2 Questions
Like the other girls, I don't want to have to worry about anything on the day of, and I don't want my mom or MOH or anyone else to have to deal with anything either. I spent too long planning this day to not enjoy it.
Nobody needed convincing haha....they all know how crazy I get.

Re: DOC - 2 Questions
I felt I needed a DOC because I didn't want any family members or friends running around making sure things were going according to plan.
I had to convince DH that a DOC was important to me, after explaining that I don't want to deal with his family or crazy members of my family he understood. And trust me, she did a great job the day of the wedding and DH's family was not easy to deal with at times.

Re: DOC - 2 Questions
1 - Why did you feel you needed a DOC?
I really needed one because I am very detailed and like things a specific way so I wanted to make sure I had somebody take care of all these little things and confirming the vendors and etc. I didn't want to make my bridal party have to do work on the wedding day - I just want everyone to have a nice, relaxing day.
2 - Did you have to convince someone (family or FH) in order for them to understand?
FH had no idea what they did and still didn't understand when I explained UNTIL we went to meet with one and she went over everything she does, the timeline, etc. Then he was like, oh man, thank goodness we are getting one.

Re: DOC - 2 Questions
I just booked a DOC last night! At almost 6 months to the day, I am basically completely booked except for the little details. Having a DOC might be overkill for us but its more of a security/insurance plan for us. I didn't have to convince anyone, as my mom was more in favor of a DOC than I was. We don't want to worry about anything or keep constantly checking our watches the day of the wedding etc... We want a stress free and carefree atmosphere to socialize with friends and family on this day.
From the start, i thought one would be overkill but im really happy i booked one.

Re: DOC - 2 Questions
1 - Why did you feel you needed a DOC? Since I do not have a BP and family is all about the drama, I just wanted someone on my side and see my vision though.
2 - Did you have to convince someone (family or FH) in order for them to understand? No, my FH didn't want me crazy and my family couldn't care less.

Re: DOC - 2 Questions
1- I didnt want myself or anyone in my family to worry about ANYTHING for the wedding day. We also have a strict timeline and need someone to keep it in check.
2- My family didnt understand...but whatever they arent paying for it anyway.
