Re: DOC

I'm not married yet, but I hired a DOC. She's basically the person who will do all the worrying for me the day of the wedding! She'll take care of all the details, do make up fixes, set up my candy buffet, know what to do in emergencies, make sure all my must-have shots are taken, etc. I'm using Rosalie. She's highly recommended on here... and I knew why the first time I spoke to her. She's an ANGEL. FM me if you want more information.

Re: DOC

I used a DOC and it was the best decision I made. Some people don't feel they need it and many of my family members doubted my choice, but in the end everyone raved about her and my mom said that she would hire her for my sister's wedding .... my sister isn't even engaged, lol.

Feel free to FM for more details.

I think it also depends on your hall. I have full faith in our maitre'd and our bridal attendant along with the planning/vendors I have used. I think its a personal decision.

Re: DOC

I've got so much going on there is no way I could do it all myself, and although there will be other people around to help, I really didn't want to give the Chief of Police the cell phone number of a family member in the event there are issues with ceremony parking. This is just ONE of the tons of things she is doing for me.

I hired Francesca from Dazzling Affairs, and thus far couldn't be happier (and more relaxed - at least about some things ).

Re: DOC

We used a DOC - Michelle Nocella from Defining Moments and her assistant. It was the best decision we made although DH did not want to have one at first.

Everyone is raving about her still. My sister was just talking about how wonderful and helpful Michelle was when we spoke yesterday

I like to joke around and say that my DOC is my professional worrier for the day! The reality is she will make sure the chairs and all decorations are in place for the ceremony, togther with everything I need for the sand ceremony. She will assist the ushers in directing guests at the ceremony, make sure programs are distributed, and be there to handle any issues that arise with the Chief of Police and parking at the ceremony. She will also verify that my vendors are where they are supposed to be, when they are supposed to be there. At the reception she'll make sure my CP giveaway is executed, the guest book is signed, the table cameras are used, my makeup still looks good, remind me to eat, remind me to step back and soak it all in etc. And most of all she will keep me calm!!

Additionally, she has already gone above and beyond DOC. She found a horse and carriage to take me to the ceremony at a price I can afford (my childhood dream), she is handling the ordering of my invites (also at a price I can afford). She offers advice when asked for, doesn't in any way try to supplant my ideas with her own, and instead encourages me to make the day my own! IMHO, this is the best $$ I've spent thus far!

I interviewed quite a few before selecting Francesca from Dazzling Affairs, and I couldn't be happier.

Re: DOC

Since I am currently living in Los Angeles, I know that when I fly back to NY for the wedding, I will have a million things on my mind.

My FH and agreed that having a DOC to make sure that the church and reception hall decorations are correct, my must take photos are taken, my dress is bustled correctly and a bunch of other things is worth it.

I didn't want to have to count on my family or bridal party to handle things, I want them to have FUN!
